A storm...
Tags:This is SO how I feel right now...there is a "storm in my brain." Coming home. Too much on my plate. Too much stuff in my space. Everywhere I turn there is more. I work so much better when things are organized and put away - well, at least out of my way. Right now there is stuff everywhere and I am feeling a little freaked out by it all. Not to mention that I just got home...
I am tired. Maybe it is jetlag...maybe it is just the accumulation of a couple months of go, go, going without proper rest and rejuvination. Maybe it is the combination of moving and working and traveling and being a wife and being a mom and having responsibilities and wanting to do it all well.
I probably need to just give myself a break.
Maybe in a couple days...
In the meantime...back to work.

funny, you must have just posted this when I clicked in. Ali, take a rest. If you have to force yourself. Don't run yourself down or you will come to a point where you just won't be able to go anymore. Yippie, I am taking your class in Irvine. I so look forward to meeting you. Untill then, try to take it easy. I know it's hard but try anyway...Lisa

Take care of yourself, sista! Go ride your bike. Breathe the fall air. Relax a little. Be present in the moment. And then dig back into the work that must be done.

Hey there Ali,
An hour a day, of YOU time!! Relax, kick back, wind down, read a book, ride a bike, eat something decadent without hurrying!
Look after you, otherwise how are you going to do everything else??!!
HUGS

Oh dear ! You just take it one step at a time, in a new house things have to find their new place, and that just takes time. Easy to say when you think you don`t have enough,I bet. Just remember, family always comes first. When you`re all set and feel that the storm has calmed down let us know more about your trip. We´re not running away in the meantime, as we say here in Germany !
Hugs

"probably" need to give yourself a break? probably?? are you kidding? woman, take a deep breath, grab a chai tea and starting eating your elephant one bite at a time. lucky for you the boxes, laundry, dishes, clutter will all still be there when you have time to take care of them. that's the great thing about laundry. it is so patient. :P you are pretty darn close to superwoman, but even she slept.

Goodness, if this post is not a mirror of my current post. I feel the same way. Sometimes overwhelmed to the point I just want to run away and hide. Take it easy, Ali and rest.

love, love the pic...I relate to your "too much stuff"...just went through my loot from CKU-A again(took Heidi's track) and I felt a storm brewin' and then I looked at the tornado that has ripped through the house - papers with too many things to do...BUT...I breathe in and tell myself what my 2 fav scrappers say: It's OK, it's all good and EMBRACE it (you & heidi). Thanks for all your inspiration and takin' the time to post.

Relax. If I have learned anything through my recent issues, it's that life happens at its own pace, and we just need to deal and handle it. Don't stress, and take things one at a time....just take an hour to yourself and let the rest of the "junk" just stay there, and then tackle one thing at a time....
Here to a good day and a better week and weekend for you

Hello Ali,
I am not a scrapbooker but I have nevertheless enjoyed reading your blog for the last couple of months. Today I want to leave a comment because I remember thinking "wow, she has got so much going on, I am in awe how well she handles it all!" Add the jetlag (you were far away enough and long away enough to be affected by that) and I am not surprised that you feel a bit burnt out. I know that soaking tubs are not as common in the US as in Europe but if you have one and simply can't take a whole day off, take a bath in soothing lavender or patchouli, light some candles and close the bathroom door. It will calm the storm in your head.
Take care, Kerstin

i feel like this often...& i haven't been any place to warrent jet-lag (does springfield count?:)...i do beleive just the fact that you are all of those things wife, mom, teacher, artist, traveler, etc...is reason enough to feel a strom in your head...oh how i love that picture & it's quite appropriate with our weather lately...that said...give yourself permission to take a little break...go to a movie alone (that's my favorite) get in someone else's world & simmer in it...it only takes a couple hours & you come out refreshed, happy & inspired...just full of words to day aren't i?...ali, you're great! have a lovely day:)

Ali, I don't know how you do it chickie. I know I am so overwhelmed in my life so much of the time and I have so much less on my plate than you do. I love to have order in my life and when it's not I just feel like I can't rest until it's back. Thank you for the sacrifices that you make in your life for all that you contribute to us. Just wanted to let you know you are appreciated. A lot.
Eileen
