The Business of being Simon.
Tags:1. Singing Old McDonald all on his own, complete with all those great little animal noises and E-I-E-I-O.
2. Yelling out the speed limit when we drive by a sign: "FOURTY" and "FIVE-T"
3. Being excited to go into school. Calling out "hello" and "hi Simon" to his teachers as he walks in the door.
4. Eggs & Toast every day for breakfast.
5. Dora & Diego's Big Adventure (it was on earlier in the week - I LOVE TIVO).
6. Waking up in the morning and saying "goodbye Daddy."
7. Sneaking into Chris' office after being put to bed and pretending to work at Chris' desk. Last night he was about two winks away from being fast asleep.
8. Not wanting to get the bottom of his shoes wet. This makes things somewhat challenging here in the state of Oregon = daily rain. This morning he froze after stepping outside the front door and a look of panic came over his face when he saw that the ground was wet. I picked him up when he asked. If he gets in the car and his shoes are wet he says "want towel." We are working with him on this one...this is a perfect example of why we try to leave plenty of time to do most things...so we can work with him on these kinds of rigidities...but sometimes, like this morning, we are simply late and need to get going.
9. Running around naked is still pretty popular.
10. Just being an overall pretty darn happy little boy.

Thank you for making me laugh this am. Esp. the not wanting to walk in rain comment. So cute... my Ry hates wind and cold ( we live in New England!) Aren't they just so funny! I always say its a blessing that I am so creative (not just for scrapbooking,,)
You need to put this blog entry into a page and then look back at it in 3 years or so... it will amaze you.
Thanks, Kim

Such a wonderful picture of Simon at 3.999999999999 :)
I love that he sneaks into Chris' office after bedtime - so cute. I would have a towel in the car for the wet shoes thing too or else the special "rain shoes" (yellow rubber boots) and bring clean dry shoes to school for him.
Have fun tomorrow and wish Simon a very Happy 4th birthday!
We'll be celbrating Ethan's 11th tonight with Turkey Pot Pie and Marble Cake (his choices)
xoxo KP

We have the naked thing here, too...twin 3 year old girls, naked as jaybirds right now. I've learned not to react to it at all, or they do it even more! I thought we were getting away from it, as we've had a lot of days with our clothes on lately, but the past 3 days have seen lots of baby booty around here. Oh, and lots of Dora, per usual. :)

In my own experience, managing the 'business' side of technology—like a company's laptops, software licenses, and AV gear—requires a similar systematic approach. Without a clear process, valuable assets and their data become a source of friction, not enablement. Finding a dedicated platform to handle that complexity is key. For anyone managing a dynamic tech inventory, exploring a structured approach like https://itemit.com/asset-tracking/it-asset-management-software/ could provide that crucial operational backbone, turning IT chaos into a manageable, accountable system.
