So very Simon.
Tags:He has been all about books this last week. Grabbing them, looking at them, repeating them if he has them memorized, and even putting them back on the shelves. It is fun to watch him go through his phases of interests. We are all like that aren't we? Loving something one minute and then on to something else the next minute.
Scrapbooking is really the first hobby I have ever had (I was always more into sports than crafts or hobbies - there was no time for crafts). Sometimes I am amazed that I have lasted this long without getting bored or excited about something else. But like you have read here before, I go through phases of obsession and boredom with scrapbooking as well. Right now I am totally into it again - loving it and riding the wave of creativity. I kinda like that ebb and flow - there is actually something stable in knowing that the ups and downs are normal and that they simply come and go all on their own.
Just playing a lot around here. Enjoying Simon (even in those moments like tonight when there was a big upset over some tater-tots that did not fit on the fork just the way they are supposed to fit). Watching Chris work so hard. Reading up on all the political stuff happening in our area and our state (are you registered to vote - the elections here in the US are coming soon). Lots of interesting issues around here. Listening to a debate between two candidates for State Senate on the radio right now. Cooking a bit (now that is amazing in and of itself - except tonight I microwaved ravioli from the big Chef). Just living.
The second issue of the AEzine/Life Artist Newsletter went out today. If you didn't receive one send me an email through the email link here on my blog. Make sure when you sign up that you confirm your subscription through the second email.

Great shot of Simon. So fun to think about our children and what interests may 'stick' with them. Thanks for sharing and for all you do!

Ali - just can't get enough of reading your blog and your newsletter. Loved the website with the shopping lists - makes me think of all the ones I find inthe bottom of trolleys! On Hol's at the moment and looking forward to getting right back into my scrapping again - love the idea of putting together all the Xmas stuff that is inspiring.

I wondered if the ebb and flow interest were common fo those raised at the seaside (I am too) ;) but I'm glad it's just normal! Maybe all the investments in scrapware will motivate us keep on scrapping forever!
Enjoy Simon and his development in language skills: his interest in books and stories are a very positive sign! I'll call it your "designers eye of noticing every small step"... If only more parents had that skill, a lot of therapist got out of work ;)

I am just loving my AE mail. Such a positive thing to pop into my box. I can't keep up with the weekly challenges, but find your words and perspective to be very inspirational. I have notebooks around the house everywhere (plus one in the car and one in my purse) to jot things down. I have not had a chance to decorate them, but it is in the thoughts inside I most enjoy anyway. I love having them close enough to grab. I did this after you mentioned it here on the blog some time ago. Thanks for that and for all that you are doing now.

Gosh...he reminds me of my nephew so much. They have the same love of books and memorize lots of them...plus the same issues with food having to be just right. (if he chooses to eat them at all) It is such a great picture of Simon...love it!
I for one am grateful that you're not bored with scrapbooking, because you touch so many people. http://jolenegeorge.blogspot.com/

I'm glad that i'm not the only one who gets bored with scrapbooking every now and again...thought it was just me. i feel so guilty sometimes, having spent a small fortune on supplies and organization... and then it just SITS there for a while. i haven't been inspired lately. well, i HAVE, but i have had absolutely NO time for my own projects. i've been working on a rush project for someone else, and when it is not for ME, i feel SOOO less creative, you know? and then i just DON'T want to do it at all. hmm...
