AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

Hi, Ali,
This is the first chance I have had to post my one little word, and I didn't see it on your list yet. My word is "moments".
This year I want to focus on living in the moment. I want to enjoy the little moments in life that can be so important, and maybe even take some photos without trying to plan the scrapbook pages in my head at the same time!

Thanks for the inspiration Ali!
My word is balance. Probably seems kind of plain and unoriginal but that's okay. It's a word that means a lot to me. This year I'm going to really work hard at. I think everyone tries hard to balance their lives but I'm going to make some changes that will hopefully make it even better.
Here's my layout.

I commented last Friday that my word would be SIMPLIFY or ACCEPTANCE. But in the end I went an entire different direction. I need to challenge myself but I didn't like the "ring" of challenge. So I chose DARE.
Here's my LO:

Here's the link to my blog where I wrote about balance. Balance is already on your master list, but it's certainly something that I am focusing on this year. Thanks so much for the idea...I was wandering!

This is my first AEzine challenge and it's a goal of mine to do these this year. Thanks for the great challenge - it was nice to start the year off this way.

Greetings from rainy North Vancouver, British Columbia. Ali, you continue to inspire me. I love this idea. I have not had time to put my word into a creative form as of yet, but my word for 2007 is HONESTY. Honesty with myself about my needs and dreams for the future, honest about the people in my life, being more honest with my scrapping journaling, I think it'll be interesting to see how the word works itself into my life in many ways that I have not yet thought of yet.

My word for 2007 will be Serendipity. It means making an unexpected discovery. It will remind me to find joy in the little things in life and to savor (almost picked that word too) them. And to look for the best in everyone and in every situation.

I am still in process with my pages--my word is BE--but here is my initial reflections on the word BE on my blog:
http://halfbakedandfireflyfree.blogspot.com/
I am really challenging myself to reflect not on Be as paired with another word (as in BE CREATIVE or BE INSPIRED) but to try to focus on BE in itself. It's hard! What does it mean to just BE? I'm already having lots of fun and gaining insight as I have thought on this question for the past few days. Thanks again, Ali, for the inspiration and for asking the hard but rewarding questions!
Blessings,
Nicole

My word for this year is aware. I want to live more fully in the moment, more fully AWARE of who I am with, what I am experiencing, the opportunties in front of me, etc., etc. It is in being aware that we can choose to be intentional about the choices we make and the life we live. I'm eager to begin!

My word for 2007 is balance. I created a layout to frame on my studio wall to remind me of it during 2007. Here it is...

Ali -
I have another word to add to the list...
"PARTICIPATE"
I painted and collaged it on an old mirror so that I can hang it somewhere that will be visible in everyday life.
I'm really looking forward to the challenge of living up to it!
Here's my post about why I chose it, and also pix of the mirror.
