AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

Wow! So many words. Mine is "Thankful" because I'm thankful for so many things: my mum making a miraculous recovery from a severe stroke; my nephew surviving a horrendous motorbike crash; having a beautiful and precious DD and a gorgeous and wonderful OH; so many, and I don't want to forget to say THANK YOU every day this year, and to count my blessings. Happy New Year Ali.

I think this is a wonderful idea! I went with the first word to pop into my head which was "LOVE" , thought about why that was the word I thought of, and created this page:

I chose the word "Courage". I didn't see it on the BIG list yet. Courage to stand up for myself through adversity. Courage to move forward in my choices, live out my desires. Courage to break boundaries and take out those "saved" supplies. Courage to live.
It's so totally amazing your mother sent you the Prayer of St. Francis today. I have that prayer in the center of my inspiration board. Wonderful to read slowly and reflect on all the things you're grateful for in life.

OMG, so many cool words! I saw mine -- Organize -- in the list and felt validated that others may be leaning in the same direction I am. Thanks, always, for the inspiration, Ali!
Here's a layout I did to get focused on why/how I want to become more organized in 2007.

And here's a postcard I made to put on my desk to remind me daily of what my priorities are.

WOW I am so impressed that you have the prayer of St. Francis up. It is one of my all time favorites and something I recite to myself daily. Do you know that Sarah McLachlan actually sang this on one of her albums? It TOTALLY rocks.

My word is focus...I covered a notebook that I am going to use to put in all the things running through my head so I won't be so distracted during the day. I am hoping this will help me to stay focused on the moment.

Hey Ali...I've been working very hard on this one. My word for the year is "Relish". I want to relish the everyday moments in life, the tribulations, everything! I also want to "add" relish to my life by decorating my house, finding new ways to embellish my scrapbooking creations and my person by getting back to wearing my vast collection of jewelry.
Here's to Relish!

Thank you Ali for a wonderful challenge!!! You are such an inspiration! The word I chose for 2007 is DETERMINED. I chose this word, because I want to be Determined to not let time stand in the way of mine and my families dreams! :)
I placed this layout in a clear frame with magnets on the back so I can hang it on my refrigerator.
