AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

I really sat and pondered my word for the year and knew what I wanted it to be the opposite of, but couldn't find a good antonym. Then, it was between Accept and Welcome. Accept sounded too much like giving in, whereas Welcome has the connotation of accepting what is and embracing it, no matter what comes to the door. Instead of analyzing everything to death, I want to just WELCOME what is. So, that's my word for this year. Thanks for putting this exercise out there for us!

My word is AWE - I want to live my life in AWE of it-the beauty of my son sleeping, the silence of a rising sun - I have a GREAT LIFE, and I want to be in AWE of it more! Thanks for the inspiring list of words!

Wow ~ I can't blieve the response to this! Very cool. My word is INSPIRE. More so, inspiration. You've motivated me to start a mini-book as a constant reminder of what lies ahead and how I am able to embrace these opportunities. Thanks Ali!

OK, like you haven't got enough words to go through, I have changed mine. It's been on my mind for days, my new word is FLY (as in flylady system as in Finally Loving Myself). If I can find some large words on the internet somewhere, I will alter them and put them by my computer to remind me to achieve this goal THIS YEAR!! Love this Ali, thanks!

After much thought, I have chosen my word: FINISH.
I am a person who starts lots of stuff, and am always busybusybusy, but I never FINISH anything. 2007 will be my year of finished projects, following thru with obligations and keeping promises. I will FINISH and I will FINISH well.
Thank you for this!

I just wanted to add mine to! I'm totally late I know.
CHOICE
Because I can choose to be optimistic, have joy, seek happiness and peace. It is totally possible.
This has been so fun to see what everybody selected. This was totally inspired!

Tonight when I sat down to catch up on my favorite blogs, I was so amazed to read the quote you had written about peace. I bought a magnet by quotable magnets a few years ago in my favorite little shop in Old Town, Alexandria. My weblog post today began with that exact post www.stardustmoonbeams@blogger.com
I so enjoy your art and perspective. Thanks.

Wow. Clearly a very inspiring concept. I have not yet blogged my word, but I will (and scrap it too! :). I think my word this year will be PRESENT. Mostly as in "be present" but also in the noun form (my children, my family, my talents, my life, all are gifts), and in the verb form: to present. Presenting the world and my dear ones with my creativity, with the best possible me.

I also found my word on this list...BELIEVE. I used it through my Shimelle Christmas Journal a lot and it kind of sums up what I want to do this year...Believe - in me, in those around me, in the future, and in the best is yet to come. The St. Francis prayer has gotten me through some down times and it is a staple in my heart.
Hugs to Simon.

My word is creative and I'm letting go of my fear and hangups. One way I've done this is to start creating an art journal instead of scrapping. It's been very exciting. Thanks Ali, as always, you are a great inspiration!

Ali - this was the PERFECT challenge with which to begin a new year. I chose VISION as my 2007 word/goal. On January 2nd, I began my campaign to really see the world around me and all the beauty I've been rushing past in my daily routines. I am keeping my snap camera with me all the time and taking at least one vision photo a day - at least for January. I jot a few notes in my day planner about what the photo is or my first thought of it. I'm planning a two page mosaic type spread come February so I can kick off my year of the new vision. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and life with us. Enjoying seeing your husband's new career kick off! Congrats!
