AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

My word for this year and life is Serendipity. To live as if. A good epitome would be ...she's living a serendipitous life, one with wonder, freedom and unexpected discoveries without preconceptions. Content and happy to live in the moment.

After much "percolation" I chose the word Cheer. I went between happy and cheer, but cheer had a better description in the dictionary.
2 : state of mind or heart : SPIRIT
3 : lightness of mind and feeling : ANIMATION, GAIETY
4 : hospitable entertainment : WELCOME
6 : something that gladdens
7 : a shout of applause or encouragement
Cheers!

After reading the newsletter the first word that came to mind was "change" but I quickly ditched it. But after a few nights sleeping with it - change it is.
Change perpective.
Change levels - patience, happiness, expectations, etc.
Change - welcome it, love it, expect it.
Change - as in evolve. not standing still.
That will be my word for the year.
Thanks!

ok reading through the lists here is totally making me think of Polar Express, how he punches each ticket with "their" word. Ali, I don't know if you had that in mind but I think it's awesome! My word is Go. Go make stuff, Go play with my kids, Go stretch, Go spend some time writing, Go do something that makes life meaningful. You get the idea. I spend lots of time thinking about, planning, sketching, buying supplies, but never get the project off paper or out of my mind.... I am trying to post a photo of the "go" collage/mosaic piece in progress but it's being tempermental... Soon I hope...

My word is RELEASE. Odd I know, but it can be to release good things (creative energy, ideas, inspiration) or release the bad (anger, frustration, sadness) BOTH of which I need to learn how to do. This word tied into the first post I put on my blog and it also ties into my everyday thoughts of 'when am I going to find time to do everything I want to do'. I need to release the thoughts and start doing them! Thanks for the constant inspiration Ali!

My word is:
Discipline
activity, exercise, or a regimen that develops or improves a skill; training: A daily stint at the typewriter is excellent discipline for a writer.
I like this definition, I want to improve daily in so many little ways, which will add up to a big difference in the end.
