AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

Hi Ali -
Just wanted to add my word (well, words) to your list.
LET GO.
As in,
let go of the negativity,
let go of the self-doubt,
let go of the weight,
let go of the things I cannot change.
Also, as in,
let go and have fun!
let go and play!
let go and be me!
let go and lighten up!
I'm hoping to work on a layout regarding my word at the SAVE crop at Split Rock. Looking forward to your classes - where I hope I can LET GO and play!

Love that you're doing this! My word is already on there and it is grateful. My layout was in response to a very generous woman who paid it forward and made me think things differently now.

My word for this year is INSPIRE. So far, this is what I've done to honor my word:
1. Cleaned and reorganized my craft room. It feels good to get rid of things and put my remaining items where I can find and use them!
2. I used small wooden letters to spell out the word INSPIRE and then put it on a shelf that I see every time I'm down in my room!
3. I made two mini albums (instructions by CKPalmer on the SS Simple Blog) this weekend to give as gifts to a friend recovering from surgery. I want to 'give' inspiration as well as receive it!
4. Am hosting an inspiration swap on another board and am looking forward to receiving some inspiration from another.
Thanks for letting me post.

I created a wall word to hang over the long shelf in my scrappy room with my word: "Bliss".

Ali,
This inspired me so much. All day yesterday this word kept coming to my mind and then when I tried to go to sleep, it just wouldn't work and your challenge came to mind. And I had to create.
Thank you for inspiring. Here's my page:

Love all the words...here's mine (which I don't think I saw on the list): CHALLENGE.
This year, I want to challenge myself to be a better artist- to think outside of the box, and try new techniques.

I'd like to add my word also.....
Healthstyle
Maybe not a "real" word, but it encompasses everthing I am working toward this year. Not only eating healthy, excercising and weight loss, but also a healthy lifestyle. To me this means a healthy mindset; no more seeking approval from others, home evnironment; being the best mother and wife I can be, and healthy decisions as well; choosing what's best for me and my family which may not be the best choice for other people concerned. I feel like I need to focus on "US" for a change and not worry so much about all of the "others" in our life.
I have started a journal to keep me thinking about what this really means to me and to keep me mindful of how I can change my "healthstyle" for the better this year.
Thanks for making me really think about what I want to do with the year and how I could change things for the better for me and my family. It is so easy to just say... yeah I'd like to change something... but this really made me THINK about it and how I can really make a change and not waste the new year.
