Tags:Just taking a minute to post from here in the Poconos of Pennsylvania - I am having such a wonderful time. There are over 200 women cropping here this weekend from all over the place. Three classes down, three to go tomorrow.
And guess what?
These women are raising a TON of money for autism in honor of Simon's 5th birthday on Sunday. They have a couple raffles and a big a silent auction (with absolutely beautiful art pieces designed by a bunch of women here). It is an amazing group effort. So, so cool. Tomorrow night we will know the total grand total amount. It is going to be BIG.
I am awed and inspired and humbled and touched by the generosity. So many people are impacted by autism in one way or another...speaking with a variety of different women here this weekend I am reminded once again of the craziness of it all, and the connectedness. I am also reminded - through so many different stories - how amazing these kids are - how I can't imagine my life without Simon. How he teaches me everyday. And that he is the reason I started scrapbooking and one of the main reasons why I continue.
Rollie - if/when you read this - you are one fantastic, amazing woman (even if you did keep me up until 2am). I am so glad that I met you last year and so completely blessed that you invted me to teach at your event. Thank you for wanting to do something that is so GOOD and for challening others to do the same.

It's wonderful that so many people are working to raise money to help Simon and other autistic kids. I'm working with two autistic kids in school right now and I love it. It has been eye-opening to do so, but I am learning so much.
