My favourite thing is looking back through albums and projects and reconnecting with memories. Sometimes they drift out of my mind, but when I look through my scrapbook pages, the details are right there!

Hi Ali,
Thank you for the inspiration.
So much happens day to day that without telling the stories to read and enjoy again, we couldn't possibly remember all the stories. I hope that when our boys get older, they will continue to enjoy pouring over the scrapbooks and know we love them dearly.

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is knowing that the moments I chronicle will live beyond me and on to future generations. They will get to know who we truly were, beyond just pictures and half-forgotten stories.

Right now? Let's see ... it would have to be because it makes me feel like an artist and I've never been able to draw anything but stick figures!

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is that there are so many amazing, fun, creative ways to keep memories available my daughter can always have a part in what ever project I'm working on and she then becomes her own memory keeper even at four years old.

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is that when I'm having one of those days when things are going wrong and I'm frustrated and I get down about life, I can open a scrapbook and remind myself of how blessed I am and how wonderful my life really is. It's easier to go back and face my current reality after doing this.

I love the look on my fiance's face when he looks back through our books and says with such love in his eyes, "you remembered this?" I never would have remembered anything without this beautiful hobby.

Creating keeps me focused on the moments and the memories as opposed to just collecting stuff. It's been even more important since my dad died in 2004 from cancer and my sister was diagnosed earlier this year with the same disease.

Hey Ali-
I love keeping the little everyday thoughts and saying that my kids come up with! Humor for years to come.
Thanks
Tara

My favorite thing right now is learning to accept the imperfect..imperfect photos, scrap them anyway. Imperfect days, remember them anyway. Even the bad days, record them anyway because it's all part of One Big Story. Our Story.

Memories = capturing a moment in time for me. I love to capture the emotion in that very moment with photos. It makes my heart race when I catch such emotion in a photo. I love to see the photos that document our lives. I also love the memory...creating memories with my son. He helps me paint and gives me pointers on what he likes with the scrapbooking. It is the best memory of all.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is looking through old pictures, layouts and albums. I am not good at journaling, but the pictures remind me about important people, things and events in my life.

I am hoping to create a connection for my dad. He is losing his memory to Altzehimers and is really only just starting to loose the short term memory. So while he is starting to live in the past, I am getting the stories before they are gone. Then I am trying to tell mine so that in case this has an "inherited" component to it, I have covered my bases and my kids will know about me and those I have loved. A case in point is a conversation that was being had a week ago when the subject of our first car came up. I have fond memories of my "wheels" as it gave me freedom that I really needed. So I went on line and down loaded a picture of the 1960 Plymouth Belvedere, (the prototype of the batmobile) so that I could do a page about the open road and the freedom that I experienced as a teenager in a dysfunctional house and how getting out and going were my salvation.

hi ali. my favorite thing about memory keeping is opening up a book, or looking at a display on the wall, or going through my digital photos in iPhoto and experiencing the sights and sounds and smells and feelings of that place and that time, all over again.
