Monday Giveaway : Studio Calico

When I see my kids looking through my scrapbooks, laughing, saying : hey mom, I nearly forgot, thanks for writing this story down...", then my heart melts and I know I`m doing it right.

My parents were recently flooded from their home that has been in our family for over 100 years. This is the third time we were flooded and thankfully the last as my parents have chosen not to return this time. I have pictures from each time but I am finding the pictures of everyday live at their home mean the most to me right now because these will be the only things that my children will have. Yes they will have memories but they will be able to relive these memories through the pictures.

My favorite thing is watching my girls look at pages we make and them remembering. Love that.

The fact that I have my memories down on paper because my brain certainly doesn't remember anything anymore!

My favorite thing is just getting it written down, get it done, even if it's just a few words and a photo, it brings the memory of that time back. That's what I'm focusing on now it just getting things done, and not worrying overmuch about the latest and greatest and tons of technique. Telling the story is the best part anyway.

I am thrilled that my girls still sit down with an album I made years ago and turn the pages like it was yesterday. They can tell the whole story and remember everything

I am in a big low right now with creating. But other than that my favorite thing of memory keeping is the fun of the moment. I want to tell my stories but I do it because it's fun to me and scrapping is my outlet. I don't think this will ever change!

I think my VERY favortie thing is just knowing that it doesn't have to be "fancy" or "perfect". . .most times, simple is better & sometimes just having the reassurance that it doesn't have to be perfect is what one needs to begin! It's too easy to become intimidated by all that's available (although I'd love to "win" this kit to give my memory keeping a "spark"! thanks so much for keeping it real!

That I can document my recent wedding! So many things to remember and cherish for a lifetime!

Other than the obvious, gernerational values. I like that it gives me my time, it is what keeps me happy.

I'm new to scrapbooking and I'm very happy I started. It means so much to me to be able to record my familys life story for us to look back on and hopefully future generations to see.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is knowing that in the years to come I have pictures that are beautifully preserved by scrapbooking and that these pages I've created will always remind me of the good memories I've had in my life. I also believe that the scrapbook that I'm creating for my daughter will be one of the best gifts I could give her. She will have something to tell her how she was as a little girl and while growing up. I'm sure she will love the layouts I made for her knowing that they are all done with my greatest love and effort. :)

My favorite thing right now...simplicity. Quotes + pictures...not much more. Definitely different from previous days of tons of colored cardstock!

As I get ready to send my first baby to preschool, I love that I have digital photos to look back and remind me of where we've been. I have a lot of organizing to do but I'm getting there!
