I love mini books and at the moment I am making a mini book about our hard way to get a baby. I document every station (hospital, docs visits, etc) for our future baby to let them know that the way we are going on fot getting the baby is the best and also the hardest thing we have ever done.

Thank you for this opportunity join in the drawing for a copy of your new book!
I'm planning to make an accordion mini-book as a perpetual calendar. One page for each month will have a library pocket with card to record the special dates to remember (Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.)

My favorite mini book was one I made on my honeymoon (8 years ago!). I hadn't even ever heard of a mini book, and wasn't into scrapbooking, but I knew it was a week that I wasn't going to want to forget! I used a sketchbook journal, did sketches of the sites all week, and attached menus from restaurants, ticket stubs, gallery brochures, and photos that I printed after we came home. Not 'perfect' by any stretch (at least aesthetically), but perfect for remembering, and that's the point, right? ;)

Hi Ali,
I'd love to make a simple tag book with members of our family (immediate, grandparents, cousins, etc)... My five-year old triplets are always asking me how to spell "so-and-so's" name and I think this would be a perfect and fun little reference for them. They love all our mini books and sometimes even sleep with them!

I made a small Fall book and its on my blog somewhere. It was fun as was the one I made using cd holders-the cardstock kind. I Prefer mini books as they go fast and people seem to like them more.

Dear Ali,
I chose overcome as my word for the year. I decided I wanted to do a mini book on how I overcame my greatest fear. My big fear was swimming in the ocean. I live in San Diego so I don't mean playing in the waves I mean doing a half mile swim in the ocean. I planned out how that was going to do this.It took me 3 months of swimming in the pool so I felt strong. Then I signed up for a tri-atholon. I did it this sunday I overcame. I was really scared but I went out and did the swim and I feel great. So my mini book is going to be on my word for this year. How I overcame my fear...
I hope you and baby to come find yourselves well.. Gloria

So excited about your new book...you have totally inspired me to do mini books.
I have a plan to do a mini book on lessons in life. Something that might be tough to get through, but will be rewarding in the end. Each page, I will journal about what happened and then the lesson. I'll interject funny & light-hearted ones between the tough ones...just to remind me that lessons are GOOD for everyone!

Yay! I can't wait for this book! I love mini books! So satisfying to make! My favorite is probably one I'm working on now. It's called "8 at 8 in 8/08". It's 8 facts about my 8 year old this month. Love your style, Ali! You're such an inspiration!

Oh Ali...I just love your blog and your style. I would love to win your latest book. I have the first two. I love mini books. I made one from our California trip 2 years ago. I gave it to our friends as a "thank you" for letting me and my family stay with them in their lovely home. I also made for each of my daughters. one about her fairy houses she makes outside from nature and the other was a little diva album. Please pick me...I never win at these. thanks again ali and thanks to your friend giving away the book.

My favourite minibook project was a 6x4 photo album for my mum. We'd had a very difficult few months - I had a hard pregnancy and spent the 3rd trimester with my husband's family as my dear MIL was dying of cancer. My DD was born a month after her death and DD spent the first 10 days in NICU because she had lost oxygen (she is so beyond FINE now that you would never guess she was the "sick" baby!) 8 weeks later, after DD was on the way to recovery, my mum revealed that she had to go to hospital for a heart op - in two weeks. She hadn't told us before because we were so stressed. I made her an album from DD - so simple, just grandparenting quotes printed on scrapbook paper paired with photos. She LOVED it. I think every nurse and doctor in hospital saw that album, and now, two years later, I see it around her house, clearly on the move because it is still looked at and treasured. Ahhhh... the BEST kinda mini-book (heck, if I win, I'll give Granny the book !!)

My favorite minibook album is called "The colors of me" and it is a tribute to my preschool aged daughters life of expression through drawing, painting, coloring and mosaics. We have many of her imperfect pieces of art put in nice gallery quality frames and hanging on our walls. Many think it's an abstract piece we bought at a gallery because it's up next to our fine art.

Glad I didn't miss this chance to win your new book. Love your books!
I don't do very many minis. But last spring I made identical minis for my dd and her best friend. Both were getting confirmed, so I used my fave Basic Grey papers in pink and bright green and made them books of inspirational quotes, following the theme of the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit. My dd, who is very quiet and keeps her emotions to herself, poured through this and still keeps it by her bedside. She didn't say much to me, but I could tell she was really touched that I spent the time on a project just for her.

I'm planing a minibook with fotos of me and my daughter(2). Since I am usually the one behind the camera, there are only few pictures of the two of us being together. Actually I want her to know that I was with her at the places she has photos of.

I am planning an ABC minibook for my 11 month old using pictures we've taken throughout the year. A is for Art Museum (with a pic from his first trip to the museum in front of our favorite Picasso), etc. It's a great way for document all of our wonderful days and for him to learn his ABCs.
