I made an A to Z mini book about our family last year. It was such a fun project for my kids and I to work on.

Congrats on the new book - can't wait to see it.
For minibooks I like to pick concepts or words to illustrate that sometimes wouldn't necessarily need a full-sized album. Love, smiles, wisdom and seasons are a few concepts I've covered recently.

I took your evolution track and an acrylic album at CKU-H - Loved them both and this was the first time I've ever done them. Now I have plans to do a mini book on our Eastern Europe trip that we took this spring instead of doing 12x12 pages which I've found lately I've had no inspiration for - Feel I need to shake things up a bit.

Congrats on your book! Sounds like a great one. :)
I'm working on a mini-book of my oldest daughter's first year. Then I'd like to start one for each of her following years. She turns 5 this Thursday.

I'm working on a "May 2008" mini right now. It's a collection of pictures and notes from the trip home to Seattle that my kids and I took. I started it but need specifics to finish it so I'm waiting. I want this to be perfect!

I'm working on several mini books right now; a "days of kindergarten" for my sons upcoming first days (Cosmo Cricket black board), his baby album (8x8) and an accordian fold of our long summer weekend for a book club assignment!

Hi Ali,
I love your site and I look forward to your book -- even if I have to pay for it ;-).
My favorite mini-book is a book I made with pockets and clear pages that has pictures of us (my family) having fun -- wearing funny hats, making funny faces, wearing funny clothes, etc. It was fun(!) to make.

Can't wait to get your book, Ali! My favorite mini book is one I made of "Who I Love". I put pictures of my husband and family members and fit it inside an Altoid tin.

I never really "got" the idea of mini books for a long time. Then I realized that I love them, because they seem less daunting than a whole 12X12 page to me sometimes, because they're themed and the visual space on each page is easier to fill. Anyway, the one I love the most, thus far, was a thank-you mini for my mom. She is always helping me with our kids and she is just the best Gma ever, so I told her so in the book.

I love one I did for my son (10) about why I love him. It was put together a few years ago on a night he needed to hear it. I made it from envelopes and scraps and because of the words and his beautiful face on every page, it is beautiful to us still! And I'm working on one for my daughter called "advice from the heart".
I am super-excited abou tthe book! Loving smaller projects these days, and always find you help bring out the me in what I do :)

oh, i'd love to have a copy of that book! at the moment i'm working on a mini about this summer. we always spend the summers in sweden and the rest of the year in the caribbean and i think it's important for the kids to really "see" what we have done every summer :). this year i'm using cloth though, not paper :).

What a great giveaway! :-)
I have two favorite minibooks. One is from a trip we took to Great Wolf Lodge with extended family. I made a Zoom Book - very simple to print at home. The kids love looking at it.
My other fav. was a "love" themed book I made for my DH for Valentine's Day. He keeps it on his nightstand by the bed.
Can't wait to see the book!

Ali, you are an inspiration to us all. I enjoy creating mini books for little girls birthday gifts showcasing cute pics I've collected of them. Also decorating books for the birthday girl to add her own pics to (themed b-day, vacations, soccer, etc.) Little girls love these!
