My favorite mini book is a Halloween acrylic one I did at CKU with Little Yellow Bicycle. I've always wanted to do a Halloween one, and I loved the way it turned out!

I'm currently working on a mini-book from my first trip to Europe; dh & I went to Romania in May. It's been fun to work with just 12 pages for the 7 days we were abroad. Smaller format has meant being more selective. Thanks for a chance at blog candy!!

I was SO excited to hear that you had a new book out! woo hoo! I am currently working on a mini book called "words" based on all the words that surround me everyday. I have words painted on walls, framed, hanging off of trees in the back yard and word stones that I made for the flower beds. they are all around me and I wanted to pick a few and define what they mean to me. it has been tons of fun! you are always inspiring me and I thank you for sharing all that you do. ciao!

I did a 'Mommy + Me' minibook from pictures taken by a friend that does professional photography. My son was 2 yrs old and it was for a father's day gift. It turned out great and it was the first book I had ever completed. A year later I did a similar photo shoot of us and started on a new mini album. It is coming together beautifully. I believe a tradition has started for us.

I am so inspired by Life Artist. I am looking forward to your next book. Your stuff from Designer Digitals is great fun to work with as well.
I am currently working on a mini-book which is an adaptation of a story my father in law wrote for one of my nephews. My father in law wrote the story, my sister in law painted watercolor paintings to go along with it and my husband's aunt put together the original book. The original was bound in leather especially for my nephew. My father in law passed away in 2000. When he wrote the book for my nephew, my nephew was fighting cancer and unfortunately has passed away since then. Both my father in law and my nephew were extremely important to my husband and me.
Our children were born after both of these special people had passed away. My husband and I talk about them both so our children know they are real people with stories of their own, but when we stumbled across the copy of the original we received we wanted to make it more approachable to our son who is almost five and our daughter who is two.
I am making it into a 4 x 6 size so it is easy for them to hold in their hands and explore. I hope to finish the digital work on it in the next few weeks so that I can have it printed and ready to put together when my mother in law comes for a visit. We will all enjoy sharing the memories that come along with it.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Would love to win your book Ali! LOVE your work :)
I just finished a mini book this am that I made for my husband for our 15yr wedding anniversary that's this Wednesday :) It's all (the good ones that is!)photos I've ever taken of just him w/ the kids over the past 6 yrs. I journaled that when I met him I knew he'd be a great husband & partner for life. But I never really thought of him as a dad. He was so scared of kids! But now we have ours he is the BEST dad ever & we are so lucky to have him. I can't wait to give it to him Wednesday!
Congrats on your #2 too!

Mini books are my favorite! The mini book I am / have been working on consists of more like a travel journal, but I add pics, captions, ticket stubs and ect. of places I've traveled to along with the activities that we did there. I started this mini book about three and a half years ago after my boyfriend and I went to Washington with his family. My boyfriend and I are 23/22 and we have been together for 4 years now and I want to be able to remember all of the places that we have gone without scrapping multiple pages for everywhere we have been and are going. I found my self saving everything and it has become a way for me to remember the fun times in each place that I have been to.

Wow what great reading your blog has been over the last few days, thank you. Mini book that I am doing is telling the story of my son who has autism from 0-5 years. He has just turned 5 and I am going to be homeschooling him.I want him to have a record of his achievements in one place. He is the one who loves mini books and he picks them up all the time and very slowly goes thru every page. Our mini books are well worn in our house, but that is what they are there for. Thank you for the awesome inspiration. Have a beautiful day :-)

I just purchased a beautiful blue Creative Imaginations Easel album. My Mum has breast cancer and we I go up to visit her a little later in the year, I am planning on taking lots and lots of photos and doing up the album for her. She will be able to take it with her when she goes for her radiation treatment.

I'm planning on making a mini about the crazy things my kids do. I'm sure that they will grow up and stop being so crazy. We all gat a little too "mature" as grown ups and it would be cool for them to see what they got up to as kids!

I am getting ready to make a mini album about my boys and our recent family hikes. They have really enjoyed hiking with us and the dog and I want to make a mini album celebrating their new love of hiking. It will also be encouragement for future hikes...to see how far they have come and how far they will go!

My fave mini book was the one I did of "A Day in the Life". I took a bunch of photos of all the normal stuff I do on a weekday and then scrapped it. I think I should do one every year!

I plan on making a very special mini album to document our journey through infertility. Even though I am only 31, we have struggled through 5 years of it, including 3 failed IVF treatments over the past 2 years, and while it is not a pleasant experience, I feel it is a story that needs to "be told" as it has taught us about ourselves and our strength as a couple. I am so looking forward to your inspiration, and thank you so much for sharing your talent with us all!

A couple years ago, I made a "now and then" an accordian book on my two daughters walk to and from school for 8 years. I still get a lump in my throat when I look thru that book!

My favorite minibook I have every done was about my husband and me. I did it years ago. Very simple. Just great snapshots of us together over the years. Dates and times and just pictures. I really love that little book!

My favourite mini book project starts today - on my mum's birthday.
I am using the Maya Road calendar - the one with the huge book rings along the top - so that mum can stand it up all the time, open to whichever page she pleases.
Today she will receive the decorated calendar frame, with an 'intro' page, explaining how the book will work. I plan to use the 'month' dividers as subjects dividers (eg. photos, images of my artwork, recipes, 'just for fun', ideas, illustrations created just for her, inspiration - all sorts of things!) and I will randomly send her pages through the year to add to it. Since the book rings are so huge - I'll be able to add a lot!
She's also an artist, but has lost some confidence in her ability, so I also plan to send her pages with encouraging quotes, or prompts of inspiration. Even little 'tasks' that I make up, to help her explore her creativity again (because I know it's there - I inherited mine from her!!) And of course I'll show up on her doorstep as a surprise with pages to add as well!
It will be a mini book that is going to grow and grow, until I can't fit anymore in it.
And then I'll just start a new one :)
I like the idea of something that will be added to over time - rather than trying to take it all in at once! I think it will make it all the more special, and I can't wait to get started.

Hi Ali! I am in the process of making a mini book to capture my first pregnancy (I'm due next week). I plan on documenting each month with the journaling I've been doing via TypePad, as well as her ultrasounds and other momentos. As well, things about how my husband and I met, our feelings on her arrival, her baby shower, etc. At the shower, I passed around the album for everyone to share a note to us and the baby...and once Sophie arrives, I will have people who visit sign, as well :-) Just trying to remember EVERY little detail, yet, keeping it simple...simple is good :-)
