Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

There's lots of projects I want to finish, but just haven't. Some I need input from other people (a book for each of us about the house we grew up in.) Some have just been pushed back in priority for other projects that I need to do for classes I teach, and gifts I plan on giving where deadlines are fast approaching.
But my biggest project is getting my digital photos labelled and printed. I've got years of photos to go through. I've backed up most of them, but still need to organize them, so I can find what I want to scrap when I want to scrap, and so my kids and family can browse pictures while I'm working on the stories. I've managed to sort about a year and half of them, but I've got another 5 years of photos to go.
5 years! That doesn't even take into account my pre digital stuff. I think that's what's keeping me from tackling it. The mental mountain of five years of photos. I have listened to advice (namely Stacy J's 15 minute timer idea) and that's what's gotten me through a year and a half of photos. I should go dig out my timer again. But first I have to finish my sister's and sister-in-law's birthday presents.

Unfinished projects you say??? At times I feel like the queen of them! I have many projects that are about 80% done. One that I have been putting off for some reason is my children's soccer albums. I have years and years of soccer photos - just want to pick the good ones and DO IT. Hey, maybe writing this here will inspire me to get started..... ;)

Where do I begin. I have been putting off everything, not just projects, because my daughter who has a 21 month old boy just had twin girls. A true blessing. But she was put on bed rest at 26 weeks, so I took care of my grandson, then at 35 weeks and 7 days the lovely twosome arrived. They are beautiful, but a LOT of work, and don't forget the 21 month old. Whew. I am getting too old for this.

I have been putting off doing an acrylic album because I was not sure of the techniques, but thanks to various blogs and your column in August's magazine (I put it in my idea book) I am getting ready to try one...and how perfect if I won one!!

I've been putting off my heritage albums - my childhood, and books about my parents. Why? I think the added steps of digitizing all the original photographs and ephemera is so daunting.

Oh man, Ali. I have been putting off everything! I haven't scrapbooked in a year. But...my first child just started full-time kindergarten, and my youngest started preschool. Now that we are settling in to school routines I am finally finding myself with extra time here and there...and so I booked a scrap retreat for next month! Yay!

Love your album, which inspires me to complete the acrylic album that I have been putting off. I was just not ready to do the clear album like i have seen everyone else's being done. I love the idea of keeping the borders clear!! Now it's time to finally try one.

So I have been putting off lots of LO's recently (we are moving) but even before I had an excuse I had been putting of doing a LO of my best friend growing up and I. I think that it is mostly because of some negative feelings that have surfaced over the past 10 years. But regardless, I want to do this LO about her because she was a big part of my life growing up.
So there you go.

I have been putting off some more layouts of me as well as a canvas as a gift for my sister. The layouts of me are because I just don't have enough pics and need to take more, but don't like doing it. (I know - suck it up!) And the canvas for my sister has been on hold because I've never done one before. This week I need to get on both of these!!

My hubby and son were in his brother's wedding 3 years ago now and I have never scrapped it. I have such wonderful memories of that day and some beautiful pictures that I took, and the bride also gave me the photos that the photographer took and I have never scrapped them. I always think that I never have the "right" materials - paper, embellishments, etc. I want to do them justice!

Hi Ali
I've been putting off a memorial album about my mom. She passed away suddenly in June and I really want to capture how my 4 and 6 year old boys felt about her before they forget. I don't think I'm quite ready yet but I'm going to write things down to start on it anyway.

My baby is already one year old, but I have not really finished my pregnancy album. There are some final touches before it's "done". I really enjoyed this second pregnancy, I was awful for my first. I kind of want that good feeling to last inside me for a while more rather than commit the feelings on paper.

I groaned at your question . . . the easier one to answer would be "what AREN'T I putting off?" . . . because I've started and set aside so many cool projects. I wish my mojo would return so I can complete a few of them. I am always so excited to start these things, but I invariably come to a point when I'm not satisfied with some aspect of it and I back-burner it. I really need to get over that!!!
Thanks for the chance at winning a clear mini. I do love the mini albums! (Yes . . . I've got 4 in progress at the moment . . .)

WOW! This SAD but so easy to answer for me. I still have not completed my CKU 2006 A Week in the Life from Chicago CKU with YOU!! I work on it here and there and love how it looks and looking back at that year. I just feel like if I complete it, that's it..done..I"ll only have something to look at and not to work on. Does that sound silly to anyone else? It does to me but at the same time ..makes perfect sense. Things move sooo fast right now, both kids in school, my job changing, my husbands job changing..things changing on our house as we need more room....it seems nice to hold on to a project that just keeps bringing me back.

I have yet to do my daughter's baby album - she is now 7. Time is the biggest factor and the project seems so large. I also have many UFP out there that need completed. Love your giveaways - this one is no different. Thanks for promoting such wonderful stuff.

i wanted to do an album on our boys "summer" adventures but I have so many pictures I tend to get side tracked and overwhelmed. I also tried to start a mini album on just me and my husband which was going to be his valentines gift...maybe I can aim for the next one.

My lastest procrastinated project is a mini album with pictures of my daughters high school swim team and meets. Originally, I was putting it of because I couldn't find fun "young" papers I liked in her school's colors (dark green and gold). Now, I'm putting it off until I complete 3 or 4 other big projects which I have already started.
