Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

Cute albums!!
I have been putting off the small albums in general because I am having hard time cutting pictures smaller than 4x6, so even if I think the smaller size albums are cute, I keep them in my boxes and I don't use them!

This is an idea I’ve been looking for!
My project pending: assembling my new life starting with the birth of my baby Noelia Lorelai...2 1/2 years ago.
Why I am putting it off: I have everything to start but live in the Caribbean, thus creating a really difficult environment to work with paper, adhesives, photo paper or just anything for that matter. Photos fade, paper disintegrates and adhesives melt away.
I have seen a few ideas with photo protectors and this acrylic base for a book will be a good defense against the liquefying process I have been experiencing.
Biggest challenge: there are not any –any at all- scrapping supplies or crafting shops here, so everything will have to be eclectic, recycled and innovative; which I love! But I need some real supporting base supplies.
I have figured out my problem; with the right products I can finally begin my journey.

Hi Ali,
Thanks for the opportunity. I've been putting of an album to keep for myself. I'm doing one for my son and for my daughter...but not for me. I have some great ideas for it...I am just not executing. I think it's because I do the mommy thing and put my needs last. Maybe?

One of the things (only one, alas) that I've been putting off has been a mini-album of my first great-nephew's first year. He will be 4 next week. Why? Because I began taking tons of pictures once he was born and continued taking tons of the first great-niece and the second great-nephew without ANY picture organizing. I've started the organizational process, but it's moving very very slowly.

I have been putting off an Elmo album I have for my dd. We went to see "Elmo Makes Music" a year ago I think, maybe 2 now. I have Sesame Street embellies, and the album with Elmo on the front and all the pics printed. Yet, I keep putting it off telling dd that it will be my "next project." I feel guilty since I know I have done 2 or 3 projects since I first told her that excuse.

I have a hard time finishing my childrens babybooks, I don't know why. I'm almost finished with the oldest ones (he's 6,5), but the other two.... I have hardly started and they are almost 5 and 2,5..... And it's not getting any easier since I forgot a lot of how it was during their first year (which I'm a little sad about).

I have been putting off finishing my senior year of High School. I did quite a bit of it when it was "current" but now I am years behind! And, I just don't want to finish it. Maybe you can motivate me!

Putting off doing baby albums for my kids. They are 7 and 5 now... I have done other albums for them, just not their baby albums. Why....time and inspiration I guess.

I have been putting off starting a scrapbook for my grandson. He's 14 months old. Every time I sit down to do it, I freeze up as I want it to be perfect. Gotta get over that feeling and just go for it!

I have been putting off one of my son's birthday pages. I take time to create almost everyday, but for some reason, I have to drag myself towards the birthday albums (I have 3-one for each child-age 10, 13, and 15-therefore-a lot of birthdays!). I try not to stress too much about it, but it is always in the back of my mind as something I really need to do. There are so many more interesting pages and mini albums to do instead!

I have been putting off finishing a mini album about my pregnancy since my daughter was born. Since she was 3 months early, it's not all about my pregnancy, but about her struggles through the NICU. She's home now and I'm having trouble motivating myself to revisit those times right now.

Oddly enough I have SEVERAL minibooks I want to make and have been putting off because I just can't figure it out. Maybe having some minibooks will kick me into high gear!!
Thanks, Ali!

I have been putting off my wedding album for about 2 years now. It seems like such a intimidating task since I want it to be "perfect". Everytime I go to a SB store, I look for some material I can use for this album so I have more than I can use now! I wish I knew a starting point for the project.
