Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I have been putting off my wedding album for a LONG time. I got married 16 years ago and was scrapbooking the "old" way even in high school and college. About 14 years ago I started SBing with the right materials and have been collecting an album, pages, etc. I don't want to tear apart my professsional album, so I keep waiting to have the extra money to buy my proofs, additional prints or negatives. With inflation, if the photographer won't give me a deal, I may have to wait forever.

I haven't been able to locate acrylic albums in my area. I'd love to work with the 6x6 or 8x8 tabbed acrylic album to document "so much to love" --following your lead. I would not have thought of paint as an adhesive. Are there other adhesives for use with acrylic albums you would recommend?

I've been putting off doing a few vacation albums (cancun, aruba, alaska) for fear of getting all the photos I want to showcase in a creative format. I could see our beach/ocean pics looking lovely in those clear albums!

My parents are 80 years old and have always kept their photos in an old hat box. I have organized their many trip photos and now we have started to put the family photos in decade order - starting with WW1 photos of my grandfather. We are up to the 1960's. It takes a long time to go through and put names and dates together as we are all having fun reminiscing.

Hi Ali! I have been putting off my vacation album from last summer to the Caribbean. We took SOOOOOOOO many pics, I hardly know where to begin! I decided recently to pull some of the mini-destinations out and make mini albums out of them (visit to Stingray City, visit to the Sea Turtle Farm). I pulled some pics out of another trip to Atlanta and made a mini album of visiting the Coca Cola Factory with an acrylic album. It is a great way to get started and feel like "something" is done....!

I've been putting off a heritage album. I think it's too overwhelming, and I just don't know the direction I want to take. Want to do it for me? ;)

i've been putting off a book for probably the most important person in my life. why? because i'm scared that upon completion, it'll become something like an end to whatever we have. silly, right?
i'll sketch ideas and such but when it comes right down to it, i never do get on it. i always find a way out. either it's going to be "too good" and mean "too much" or it's not going to be nearly good enough and never mean enough.
crazy lives in my head.

I have been putting off making one of these clear albums because I have to drive about 45 minutes to get to a scrapbook store and I don't really need anything else, so to order it at an online store seems like a waste. Winning one would solve my problem- LOL!

I have been putting off layouts about my husband because I want to make them "manly" so he'll like them but I want to be able to also make them honest, and touching and have them accurately portray my "girly" feelings.

-- I have been putting off some of my travels when I was in my 20's - there are some good stories there - but looking at all the great current moments I want to capture & document - it's been hard to make time to get to those...plus you have to add in the creative way to crop out ex-boyfriends. :)
