Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

Sigh...there are many albums that I have been putting off, like my wedding album (it's only been 15 years!), school albums for my son and daughter, our vacation this summer...I would have to say that my problem is a combination of perfectionism, indecisiveness and lack of time. Even though I have ideas of what to do, I think that those three issues paralyze me so that I don't get around to actually carrying it out. I really appreciated that your Life Artist book addressed those issues. I just need to move forward.

I have been really, really putting off my daughter's birth to first year album --- she is four now -- i keep on telling myself this will be my next project.

I have started but not finished of course my 4 kids school albums. I think I get held back by not having a good design layout to follow. I think it is also a little bit of thinking that it needs to be perfect on the page.
Thanks!

I have been putting off my sister's recipe album for her wedding. I am torn between it being a good design and also being functional. I am also trying to anticipate how she will be able to use it in the future. 8 1/2 x 11? Recipe cards? Should she be able to add to it, or should this be a stand-alone collection of recipes bequeathed to her from a bevy of family and friends? Lots to think about, but I need to get on the ball. Thanks for the giveaway!

There are two projects that I have been putting off, one is an book about my "home" I grew up in. It is an old farm in KY, I have the pictures, the memories jotted down that I want tell, but everytime I go to put paper to glue I get teared up missing it, that it is so hard to do. The other is a book of me, I know exactly what I want to say in it, I know what I want to include, but the fear of actually putting it in print scares me. Laura D.

I have been putting off the setting up of my new scrapbook room. We just moved about 3 weeks ago and are still trying to finish up the last of the unpacking. I have never had a designated SB room before, but am setting up one in our new place. I still need to purchase some new furniture items to house my supplies before I can unpack all of my boxed goodies. But this is a project that I can't wait to start! And I have plenty to do! Love the acrylic albums...never worked on one of those before and it looks like fun!

I want to do an album about our 10th anniversary trip to Europe (a dream come true for me) but it seems like such a big project. I'm thinking of starting with a mini-album of my favourite pictures from the trip to get me going. Perfect for a new set of mini-albums! ;)

Identifying one project I have put off is tough,,,but one is layout about my nieces's 16th birthday. I have an idea about how I want the look/feel to be, what materials I want to use, but I cannot seem to sit down and put it together. (She turns 18 in 3 months!) I suspect it is the emotion of the event...my goal is to complete it before her 18th birthday!

hi ali...i LOVE all the projects you do with acrylic and transparencies! thanks for all the inspiration. the project that i have been putting off is ABC books for my kids. i have 5 year old twins who just started kindergarten this year. i am also a teacher, so my plan was to have the kids do 2 layouts each week (2 letters) over the summer to practice writing and sounds, etc. i was going to have them find things that start with the letter and take their own pictures. but, summer slipped away and now that i am back in school, it just seems too overwhelming to me :(

I have been putting off doing an album about me...I always want to scrap about my daughter first...but I know she will want to know about my life when she is older. I have been putting off scrapbooking anything. Ever since I first saw what you did and knew that that was the style I liked, I have hit a rut. I do not know how to create what you do but in my own style so I am stuck.

I have been putting off our wedding album ~ after 6 1/2 years!!! It's the one album that somewhat intimidates me and I know that I have to get over it and just do it, but I can't quite seem to.

I have been putting off my wedding "out-takes" album, my trip to Disneyland, my best friends baby shower and birth of her son...Basically everything lately. Being so busy sometimes takes over creating.

I have been putting off my wedding... and it's been five years. I want it to be perfect. I am a little saddended because my style has changed thru the years and I wish I would have done it right away, now I will want to embelish it so much more than five years ago. I am getting closer... I just finished the honeymoon in one of Karen Russels new ablums!! Some day, these wonderful mini books might get me kick started.

I've been putting off doing our family character album (different cartoon characters they have met), because I just can't figure out what color papers I want to use. They have so many different colors in the photos, so I'm thinking of adding a little of each color. Waiting for my creativity to kick in and help get this album done.

I have been putting off a mini-album about "love" for my family. We have custody of our 3 nieces right now and would love to do an album about all 5 kids. Why have I put it off? Trying to paint and redo my scrap room.

I am putting off an ABC album for my husband on our home, because I don't find the good photo for some letters and some letters like K, W, X, Y are ( in french) difficult to use!!

We recently went to Hawaii for my Grandmother's 80th Birthday. Since it is rare that all the family is in one place at the same time (one house for 8 nights! Yikes) I wanted to put together mini albums for my Grandmother and Aunts/Uncles. They are all pretty much going to be the same since we basically did all the same outings. I have been putting this off since it seems like I committed myself to a huge project and it is hard to know where to start. Last night I sent photos to be printed and hope to have a productive weekend. I hope that once the photos arrive they will give me the inspriation I need to finish this project! Thanks for all your inspiration Ali!
