Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I've been putting off finishing up the 1/2 dozen or so mini books I have in progress because we are suddenly moving out of state. Had planned on being in our house for another 20 years or so-not packing up and starting over. It's scary. It's exciting. I am spending my days sorting, tossing, giving away and packing up. Though I do want to finish up those books before I have to pack them away for a bit. I have been dying to try one of these cute albums! Thanks for the giveaway!

I've been putting off a mini album of notes my husband and I wrote to each other when we were dating. I guess I just don't have a jumping off point of a vision for it yet.

Our trip to Paris. I have a ton of photos and stuff. Hubby and I even wrote notes and journaled while we were there. It was just a big, wonderful trip for us -- I think the thought that I might get the scrapbook *wrong* is overwhelming. Irrational but true.

I have been putting off scraping my son's favorite things at 1 year old. Just because I haven't taken the time to photograph some of these things.

Wow! That's a great giveaway! I sure wouldn't put off using those! ;)
I have had a canvas project half done for about a year now...I'm planning to hand write the Lord's Prayer on it and I think I'm just plain old afraid it won't look like I want it to...I'm not usually cautious about jumping in on something, but for some reason I have a huge block about this. So, it sits upon my shelf half done...

This Last Easter the whole family celebrated at my sons house. I took lots of awsome pictures. But I have not scrapbooked them because I am at a loss. I love to do vintage looking layout so trying to do a pastel LO has me stumped. I have bought so many styles of papers, I just can't seem to make the ideas work in my head...so they sit on my table gathering dust.

I keep putting off scrapping my mom's old pictures. There are so many of them, and I get really overwhelmed when I look at them all. I'm actually think that I may scan them all in an put them in a digital album template to simplify things. :-)

Hi Ali ... nice design on the acrylic album! And thanks so much for your thoughtful comments everyday. You always seem to have something important to say that touches me. Anyway ... I have been working on vacation albums likes crazy and avoiding my "chronological" every day 12 X 12 albums. I was getting bored working in 12 X 12 all the time and wanted to break free and do something different. But, have a weekend crop coming up and am gonna get back to the other. Woo Hoo!

I *love* these albums! I have been putting off making a mini-album for a friend who recently got married... have lots of fun snapshots and I thought it would be a really nice surprise gift. I got it in my head that -- oddly enough given your contest! -- I would do a clear album, and it is totally intimidating me. I need to just sit down and lay stuff out and move it around, but it never seems to happen. The concept of thinking ahead thru multiple pages is making it seem too overwhelming.

Wow! I love that mixed up album. I may have to get a few of those.
I have ton's of projects waiting for "time." 2 on the top of my list are the trips my kids took with their grandparents -one went to Oxford, England and the other went on a tour of Italy.

I am putting my families 5 favorite cookie recipes. and then will give a sampling of those cookies with the mini albums.
I have put this HUGE task off because I felt like I had ALL the time in the world to finish, but I just realized I only have 2 months!!! HOLY COW

I have been putting off my summer vacation album of our trip to Yellowstone. I took way too many photos and feel overwhelmed with choosing only a few for an album.

I am putting off most projects lately. Seems like I can't finish one, but I start most all of them! Right now, the one that is most pressing is the sticky note on my monitor (I'm a DIGI scrapper) that says: Weekend Creative Project: Make a Summer Memory Book!!! I really want to do it, we had so many fun outings this summer. Ah, maybe this weekend it will get done. (Here's to hoping!)
Thanks Ali!

These albums look so lovely. I can think of a hundred different ideas that i would do with them....so cool. I have been putting off scrapbooking my years that i spent in the states. I lived in the USA for 2 years before i moved to the UK and would love to document them. The reason that i havent is that i have so many good memories i dont want to do any of them any injustice by doing a horrible or bad layout so i find that instead of trying something and making it work i am not trying anything....sounds really silly of me when i see it written down!

Well, mom passed away last September 25, and although I have lots of stuff and all the photos, I have not been brave enough to sit and put a book together. But I think I am getting closer to it...I just need to take a deep breath and begin!

I am putting off scrapbooking a trip to Glen Eyrie in Colorado Springs, where my husband and I went in the summer of 2006. I have about seven hundred photos, and would probably scrap half of those or more. I'd like to do it when I have enough of the same supplies to make an album that will flow, and I want to make sure the album isn't too trendy. I am also waiting until I come up with a basic color scheme, will have time for thorough journaling, and for a time when I will be able to work through it until it is done, without scrapping too much of something else in the duration.

Hi Ali, LOVE the clear albums...I have been wanting to try one, but am a little intimidated, knowing that they take a little more planning to hide adhesives and such...maybe this is the time to just jump in with both feet and do it. The album I have been putting off is one of my niece. She passed away last year at age 2 after choking on a little ball...so tragic, and sad. I know that it will be a hard, painful one to do, and I need it to be "perfect". I just don't know if I am ready to deal with those heavy emotions so directly right now, but I think it is time to try. Putting it off will not really make it any easier, and having the finished album might just help in the healing process. Thank you for being such a great inspiration to me!

I've been putting off finishing the vacation albums from the past years. I only get a few layouts done but there are so many photos begging to be included in the storytelling.
