Three Things : Three Giveaways
A fun Tuesday giveaway:
1. Five gift certificates to Songbird Avenue. Here's what's cool about these guys: they are a digital scrapbooking-based online boutique
whose proceeds are donated to various charities each month in an effort
to give compassionately to those in need. Definitely a site to check out and support.
2. One November kit from Stampin With Steph (a Stampin Up independent demonstrator).
3. One November kit (designed by Stacy Julian) for Cocoa Daisy (you will receive this in early November).
To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know how you celebrate the fall season. Comments will be closed today (Tuesday) at 8pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

In Miami Fall is fantastic! The temp drops from 96 to 86! It's glorious! :-)
We usually spend time at the beach. And you haven't lived until you've rolled pumpkins down the sand into the ocean. Our new fall tradition. ;-)
I love your work. Thanks!

Since the death of my oldest daughter, Gina, years ago, my other two daughters and I get together to carve pumpkins and decorate for Halloween, as this was one of Gina's favorite holidays. We try to also get together prior to Thanksgiving to bake. We try to celebrate fall in total rememberance of Gina, as she passed away December 1st and we find, that the best way to deal with our grief is to celebrate her life. My oldest daughter is married and lives in Chicago and my youngest daughter is a Jr. at college and lives at the campus, but they still manage to come home for this tradition. So, fall is a very difficult time yet a very celebratory time for me and my daughters.

We celebrate the fall with soccer games on Saturdays, a trip to the pumpkin patch, decorating the house for Halloween and throwing an after-party following the costume party at my son's school.
This year, now that my son is nine, we added a trip to a haunted corn field to our celebration of the season.

For us, it's all about the PUMPKIN! We have a tradition to take a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch so we can each choose the perfect one. We make unique jack o lanterns every year. We also make pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bread with chocolate chips, and love to take walks when all the trees are turning colors. Fall is by far our favorite time of the year!

We don't do anything in particular around here since the fall season and winter sort of just blend together, but it does cool down so we enjoy outside a lot more! We open the windows, go to the park and go on bike rides.

For me, fall is about getting my care package ready for my penpal who lives in England. Fall is about putting on my favorite fuzzy socks and flannel pj pants and just lounging around the house. It's about finding new recipes that I can turn into family traditions.

We celebrate fall with lots of baking, playing in the leaves and snuggling under the blankets.

We celebrate Fall in so many ways, but especially with family. Just being close to those we love on the upcoming holidays makes me feel safe, happy and warm. We also do arts and crafts until our hearts are content-so much fun and so many traditions.

We too do the hayrides and corn mazes. But around the house, decorating with leaves, pumpkins, and candy corns. Also those yummy fall scented candles; pumpkin spice and apple pie. Mmmmm!

Fall at my house means pumpkins on the porch, zucchini bread on the counter and jars full of candy corns. And just the beginning of hot cocoa evenings.

We pick up chestnuts, acorns and leaves and make little things out of it, usually little people or animals.
We're carving pumpkins this year (not common in Germany) and my 3-year-old is pretty excited about it :-).
In November there will be lantern processions, where the kids will proudly show their crafted glowing lanterns!

In Puerto Rico we are in the tropics and there is not a we don't see a big difference in season year round. But our big celebration at this time of year is Thanksgiving. We meet and have a family dinner where everyone brings a special plate. Turkey stuffed with mofongo, arroz con gandules, pecan or pumpkin pies or flan, 7 layer salad .... At the time of dinner we sit down to give thanks for our blessings.

We start out by "booing" a neighbor. My older girls love sneaking around in the dark trying not to get caught! We also make our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. Once we scoop out the pumpkin seeds, we roast them for a yummy treat! We also love pulling out our jeans and sweaters once the crisp air hits!!!

I absolutely LOVE fall! The cool crisp air and changing colors of the leaves are wonderful. Also, here in the South it's all about SEC football (Roll Tide!). We spend most Saturdays hanging out with friends or family around the big screen watching football. Of course that always involves big pots of chili too!
I've also been thinking about how things will be different next year with the new baby and about fun family type things that we can do (go to the pumpkin patch, hay rides, corn maze, etc.)

I'm with Dana, it's so hard to think fall when it's 90 in SoCal, and this is my first fall here, but back up in the NW I loved going to the farms and picking pumpkins and having carving contests! Oh, and getting the famous caramel apple cider from starbucks, yum!

What great giveaways ;)
We actuallt don't celebrate fall here in Norway like you do in America, but what I really like is that on the 31st October, the have a Fall-Thank-party at the kindergarten where my son is. The kids sing songs for the parents and they serve potato-soup made from the potatoes they have grown in the kindergarten over the summer :o)
I also love baking a lot of apple-cakes and apple-muffins and filling up the freezer. Especially this year as we have had so many apples in the garden.
Wishing you and your family a lovely fall celebration :D
