Three Things : Three Giveaways
A fun Tuesday giveaway:
1. Five gift certificates to Songbird Avenue. Here's what's cool about these guys: they are a digital scrapbooking-based online boutique
whose proceeds are donated to various charities each month in an effort
to give compassionately to those in need. Definitely a site to check out and support.
2. One November kit from Stampin With Steph (a Stampin Up independent demonstrator).
3. One November kit (designed by Stacy Julian) for Cocoa Daisy (you will receive this in early November).
To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know how you celebrate the fall season. Comments will be closed today (Tuesday) at 8pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

We do the usual fall things - baking pumpkin cookies, doing leaf rubs and hitting the local pumpking patch. My kids favorite thing though is probably raking leaves and jumping in!

Fall is our favorite season. Beautiful colored leaves, Sunday afternoon drives in the country stopping at the various farms for fresh apples and veggies, visiting local pumpkin patches, the first batch of soup for the season, baking, fuzzy socks, the smell of fireplaces at work, and sipping hot tea and cider are some of the things we look forward to when the weather gets nippy and the leaves begin to fall. It's a magical time of year in Oregon.

We used to celebrate fall with lots of baking, lots of cooking of comfort foods, trips to the pumpkin patch, long hikes to admire the leaves, and plenty of hot drinks and coffee shop visits. Now that we have a new baby, these things are changing a bit... We still go on hikes, but they're not as long. We still cook, but not as often (and when we do, it's in really large batches so we can have left overs for a while). We haven't baked yet this season, but it's still early... Just really trying to get a good balance between outdoor life and indoor comfort before the rain and cold really settle in!

We always go to the pumpkin patch and try to find pumpkins that "reflect" our family (a long skinny one for my husband, a stouter one for me, and smaller ones for the twins. Then we line them up on the porch and take a photo with "our" likeness!
Lots of fun! Happy fall to you!

I bring out all my fall decorations and go through my house putting out things to get me in the mood for fall. I'm a big summer person so it's hard for me to anticipate fall, but when I see all my "fall" things displayed, it's puts me in the mood for cooler weather. I also start baking alot more and usually have some goodie for us to snack on in the evenings.

We call it autumn over here and this year has been a particularly beautiful one so far. We have been making scrapbooks of dried leaves and comparing to the one made last year in New England, falling in love with hot chocolate again, and playing on the beach bundled up from head to toe in woolly clothes and wellington boots!

Hi, Ali!!! Gorgeous stuff, as usual.
It's funny, spring/summer are my favourites for the warmth, but I just adore fall for the nesting/decorating aspect.
We celebrate by buying a ton of pumpkins in September, along with gourds and such, as Thanksgiving is in October. We spend Thanksgiving at the cottage and I like to take pics of the leaves changing.
I switch our food to more hearty meals, more slow cooking....soups, stews, chilis, etc.
I burn candles, collect acorns to have around the house, buy new flannel pyjamas and do a ton of crafts for Halloween. In short....I do a lot for fall. More than for any other season, truth be told.

We live in Arizona, so fall for us means going outside again! After 6 months of heat, it is wonderful to be able to enjoy cooler temps, walk the kids to school, and play at the park.

We love picking apples and making applesauce, carving pumpkins (or painting them), making piles of leaves for the kids to jump in, and of course taking pictures.

I celebrate the fall by turning the oven back on! I can't get enough of baked desserts, roasted vegetables, cheesy gratins... all those rich, caramelized flavors that taste just like a warm hug! But for me, the fall is also a season of anticipation. I start making my Christmas cards and planning out what gifts to make for friends and family this holiday season! Shh... don't tell, but I also start sneaking holiday music into my playlists ;-)

Turn off the air conditioning, open the windows, and enjoy the chilly fresh air. Pair with the first hot chocolate of the season, and it's perfect!

I love the colors of fall which means great photo opportunities. Fall also means celebrating Thanksgiving ... turkey with all the fixins', brussel sprouts and pumpkin pie and even though my boys are young adults now, they still enjoy carving pumpkins.
