Three Things : Three Giveaways
A fun Tuesday giveaway:
1. Five gift certificates to Songbird Avenue. Here's what's cool about these guys: they are a digital scrapbooking-based online boutique
whose proceeds are donated to various charities each month in an effort
to give compassionately to those in need. Definitely a site to check out and support.
2. One November kit from Stampin With Steph (a Stampin Up independent demonstrator).
3. One November kit (designed by Stacy Julian) for Cocoa Daisy (you will receive this in early November).
To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know how you celebrate the fall season. Comments will be closed today (Tuesday) at 8pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

Hey Ali! We celebrate with a harvest dinner at my mom's house out in the mountains of Washington state...we are all gardeners in my family so we all bring something we've grown, even the kids, and prepare a meal with our fresh ingredients. My mom plants a big pumpkin patch so we harvest the pumpkins together and the kids pick out their favorites. We're headed up this weekend in fact... I can't wait!

For me, fall is full of wonderful memories growing up in Germany. Now that we live on Guam, we don't have an autumn. No crispy air, no changing leaves, no wearing new winter coats. Just a long monsoon season with lots of rain and an occasional typhoon.
So we celebrate by bringing the fall to our island. We bake pumpkin pies and eat them covered in whipped cream. I start gathering recipes for the cookies I plan to make over the holidays. We start shopping in September, in the hopes we'll find the perfect presents, paper, ribbons, etc. Halloween is my favorite holiday. Around this time I always buy everyone in the house a pumpkin - and insist we all carve them together, with cups of cocoa on standby. And the new tradition I'm starting this year is making my daughter's costume - she just turned 1 on Oct. 3!

Fall is my favorite time of year. It brings with it all the anticipation of the upcoming holiday season. I love anticipation!
I always take my son to the pumpkin patch, we go on a train ride, pick our pumpkins. We eat too much trick-or-treat candy. I start decorating the house. I bring out my most favorite pumpkin candles. I enjoy warm drinks. It is the best time of year!

We celebrate Fall by going outside a lot before the weather turns. We take long walks, short drives to the beach and to the pumpkin patch. Warm cider, hot chocolate and fires in the fireplace on those cool Fall evenings. AND we make soups, lots of squash soups and sweet potato chowders!!

We love fall at our house because it's BIRTHDAY TIME for me, my hubby and my youngest child. So, we celebrate with loads of birthday parties as well as a pumpkin carving party at my parent's home. They live on some land with a pond and we've made a tradition of picking one great fall Sunday bringing our pumpkins and William Sonoma carving kits over to see who can create the coolest pumpkin art. The kids love driving the tractor with the tables and chairs and food (homemade chili or soup) and we hang out by the bonfire singing corny old campfire songs and telling stories about our childhood. It's a right of passage each autumn and a tradition I hope continues for years to come. Happy fall Ali!

We are totally into pumpkins...we go to a local market and get lots of pumpkins(which is a fall adventure in and of itself). The kids draw faces on them with sharpies until we can carve them for Halloween. It's fun to see them add features to the pumpkin faces a little every day :)

Hot cider. The Topsfield Fair. Pumpkins. Decorating the house and balcony with mums in shades of gold, brick, white and orange. Cooking dinners that take a long time to simmer and make the house smell yummy. Baked chicken, soup, apple pie. Trips to the apple orchard. Walks in the cool air. This is how I celebrate the season...my favorite of the year!

Fall is a celebration in itself. I always take my boys on a special fall hike to look at all the colors and breath in the crisp, cool air. We spend more time outside then any other time of the year. I also celebrate my B-Day and Anniversary and of course Halloween and Thanksgiving. I just love this time of the year!!!!

Fall is pumpkin spice candles, trips to the library, lots of hot tea, and reflections of one's self in the colors of the trees. In the past, autumn was always a stressful time for me, due to health complications. I'm glad to be in a place now where I can exist peacefully with this season and enjoy it for what it is.

As we don't really celebrate Halloween over here in Europe - it's all about decorating "fallishly" pumpkins all over the place with candles inside, coloured leaves from the garden, mini-decorative pumpkins...
And GOING OUT in thick jackets - we went to an Aboretum (garden full of international trees) and were stunned by their wonderful colours and shapes. AND AFTERWARDS snuggling on the couch with a big mug of steaming hot tea!!!! (;
Have a nice day!
Lovely greetings from over the ocean!

I celebrate fall by attending lots of football games. The weather always varies but it is a great season. When my kids were younger, halloween was my favorite holiday. Now I love all the pumpkins and mums on porches.

We pull out decorations and set up. My favorite is the scarecrow I made with my son when he was about 4 (he's 7 now). It wears some of his old clothes. We have to bring Fall into the house, since we live in Phoenix and have no actual Fall season. :)
