Celebrating Simon.

Candles

We are all wiped out tonight after a really fun, loud, and chocolate-filled birthday celebration. My feet are definitely tired.

Cupcakes

Yep, cake (above) and cupcakes.

Seven

Birthdays are cool.

And I love this one:

Cake2

Today after school Simon and I will embark on putting together a Star Wars lego ship. Wish me luck. He was bummed that it was not happening after the party so we had a little chat about having something to look forward to on the day after your birthday.

He also says thank you to all of you who left well-wishes for him yesterday. That was really special and cool.

Seven is going to be a good year.

And speaking of things that are good & fun, a tour of Simon's updated bedroom was featured on Ohdeedoh yesterday (click this link for information about stuff in the room). In all reality the nesting has been going on around here for the last few months.

The planet mobile is an old one from Pottery Barn Kids. I found this one on ebay a few years back.

I love these pics. I got you Designer's Eye along with my CK 365 Kits (one of which I'm now raffling for charity) and I was totally enthralled with how little Simon was in those pages. He's growing so fast!

I thought I posted a comment, but I could find it. :( Love the room and the cupcakes! Did you make the cupcakes or buy them? If you made them, what recipe did you use?
I'm glad the building of the ship went well. It looks fabulous! And your photo is awesome!

oh, I love the sparkly (as my son, who is also a Simon, would call them) stars behind his bed. It creates such a cozy, sweet space for sleep. You are amazing, Ali. I can't even do this while NOT pregnant, much less weeks from popping! Color me jealous!

    Hello Ali,
How are you? I was trying to contact you but it seems there's a problem. Sorry if I just posted it here, it's very important for me. A friend in another site posted a comment on my profile with this quote, "What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it." I just don't know where she got it but I will ask her. I search the net with the similar quote and I found it here in your site. I wrote this quote last year "This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind... let it be something good." I placed it somewhere in my old blog or in friendster bulletin or inserted it on graphics I made. I always inserted my name whenever I wrote something. I just feel bad if someone used it with no acknowledgment. I hope you understand. Please tell me where you got this quote, though it was edited a little. Thank you!
