This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

Valentine's Day is our anniversary, but instead of waiting on a table at a restaurant we spend it with our son at home. I make a special dinner and dessert and we spend the evening together as a family.

I always make cards and some kind of altered project for each of my grandchildren. As the boys are getting older though, it's becoming harder to keep the "girly" pink and hearts out of the projects!

My husband and I both work and have 2 young ones so we try and catch lunch together to celebrate. I make a handmade card for him and he usually buys me one in a modern and unique style which he knows I will like. But we try and keep it simple and not buy into the commercial aspect of it.
Now that my older daughter is 4, I plan to help her make some cards and send them with her to her daycare to share with her friends. She is at the point where she would understand that concept behind appreciating your friends and the ones you love. (Ssssh . . . don't tell anyone but we're making one for daddy too)

Hi Ali- We have some really fun traditions. The kids always make their own valentines day cards for their class and we add some homemade candy packets to the cards. We have already started on these! On the day of...I make pink pancakes, put pink and red candies in their lunch, and I make a big heart cake for dessert. I think it's one of our fav holidays- I even made a mini book about our traditions last year...and it's been a favorite mini to browse though!
Have a great and restful day!!

We spend the evening at home and I make the same dinner every year- filet mignons, roasted plum tomatoes, homemade creamed spinach, and a good bottle of wine. We enjoy a nice quiet evening after our little guy goes to bed. Now that my son is a toddler we'll start to make a special breakfast too!

My husband and I normally cook dinner together. We make something a little out of the ordinary, like homemade crabcakes. We don't do gifts; we just enjoy spending time with one another.

We usually have a nice quiet dinner at home with some flowers and candy purchased before the big day. This year, my son is 3, and we will be making heart-shaped cookies on that day.

My husband loads up all his girls in the car on Valentine's and takes them to pick out their own little treats from him - they can pick out whatever kind of flowers they want or a big balloon. They love getting to look at the flowers and pick out their favorites - with three little girls we end up with lots of variety. He and I have a standing tradition of picking up Greek take out and enjoying it after our munchkins are in bed for the night. :)

I have varied Valentine's from year to year. My fav year though was when I started Feb 1 and did 14 days of Valentines in which I did/gave/made something special for my hubby. I/we ended on the 14th by going to his work and sticking multi-colored, pink, purple, red hearts all over his car.

I always get my husband a card. The kids and I sometimes make a special treat together, like cupcakes with valentine decorations. Or I make something special for the whole family, like our favorite chocolate cake. And we eat our special treat all together, family dinner style, when my husband gets home from work in the late afternoon.

I will give small gifts to my daughters as the grow older, maybe flowers someday. They are little now so I think I will stick with heart shaped sandwiches and cookies since a growing toddler appreciates food! My husband and I don't have a real tradition except for avoiding resturants because they are too crowded on Valentines Day.

We started this tradition last year after my son was born 3 months prematurely. He was released from the NICU after 70 days in late January. On Valentine's Day I made cut out hearts and frosted them in pink and red and took them to his "first valentine's" the NICU nurses. We plan on continuing this tradition every year.

We don't do too much. My hubby and I try to get out to dinner either the night before or the night after--not nearly as crowded. Usually we exchange cards, sometimes presents, sometimes not.

I all depends on whether the dh is home or deployed! Deployed means lots of early planning and mailing cards and love notes to wherever he is at the time. Home means hiding notes around the house and a nice dinner...and probably something chocolate for dessert. Either way it is nice to take a big time out and just let him know how much he means to me.

I don't know what it is but I am more excited about Valentine's Day this year than I have ever been. I've made cards to send, hung a heart wreath on the door, and put out what few decorations I have (table runner and paper banner)!

I love Valentines Day! Starts out in the morning with a fun pink breakfast for the kids - strawberry cereal that turns the milk pink, pink cream cheese on bagels, strawberry milk. When packing lunches, I throw a little Valentine heart candy into the lunch with a nice little note wishing them a Happy Valentine's Day. While the teenager outwardly professes embarrassment, she inwardly LOVES it!! I do keep a little bit of Valentine's candy around the house during the season, but made the decision a long time ago when the kids were little to not have a lot of it around. They don't like chocolate much anyway, although their Momma sure does!! (another reason to keep it limited for fear I might eat all of it!) The tradition in my family was always to give/receive a little gift at valentines. As a Mom, my gifts are usually either a new book I know they will enjoy or a christian CD they have been wanting. My sweet, sweet husband prepares a wonderful made to order Valentines Dinner for all of us and we top of the day with a yummy Valentine's decorated dessert!! He also usually treats me to tons of roses - I think the record number of roses he has surprised me with is 6 dozen!!

I don't really do anything special. My husband & I usually just exchange cards and maybe a small gift. We always get out son a small gift. Nothing extravagant.

Alex and i make heart shaped sugar cookies and decorate them. The best part though, is going to Party City and picking up a bunch of the inexpensive red heart mylar balloons. There is just something magical about those things :)

I don't really have any Valentine's Day traditions, as I don't really have a Valentine. But I recently tried the bokeh technique of adding a black hood with a shape cut out of it on to my camera and it totally worked!! I think I may have tried the heart too, which was why I remembered it. I should pull that out again. :)Very cool print!
