Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

    We keep ours pretty simple but special to us. We make heart-shaped raspberry pancakes for our 3 kids (4,3,18mos)for breakfast. My hubbie and I have always left a trail of chocolate kisses to our cards for each other so I think we'll add the same tradition for our kids with jelly beans this year.
    Thanks for gathering all of these great ideas and the fantastic give-aways!

    usually just a little pile of goodies - something sweet, a small toy, a card. . .this year, I already scored some cute red tin buckets to put the stuff in.

    My boys (7 and 5), husband and I make cards and give them to each other on the 14th. We also make some red and white sweet treats.
    This year I think we are going to make a gingerbread house and use valentine candy. We had so much fun making them for Christmas the boys want to do it again!
    Thanks for the opportunity to win some great giveaways.

    We give each kid a gift bag of their favorite sweets. And now that two of my older boys are away at college, I bake them special valentine cookies to go with their gift bags and deliver them to school (they are only an hour away). To them, there is nothing like some baked goods from home when your away at school.

    Wow! Great giveaways!!!
    I LOVE Valentine's Day! What a wonderful day to let people know you love 'em!!!
    I make my own Valentine's for family, friends, and co-workers. Hubby and I usually cook something special for dinner instead of going out. Being at home means more since we both work and are in school. =)

    My husband proposed the day before Valentine's Day (I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed on Valentine's Day!), so we celebrate both days! Usually, we do something special on the 13th & it's many times easier to find a sitter! :) As for the big day itself, my mom always found a game to give us, so I have carried on that tradition with my girls. I haven't decided which game yet, so thanks for the reminder! Plus, everything is pink & red at our house anyway, so you know it's a holiday my 4-year-old can't get enough of!

    We, along with a few other home schooling families, get together for an afternoon of cookie decorating, as well as other games and crafts and the kids exchange Valentines with one another.

    I ALWAYS start the day with heart shaped chocolate chip waffles! Its about the only time I drag out that waffle maker. My mom always makes these delicious chocolate heart shaped cookies with pink peppermint icing! I may try to make those this year. Thanks for the opportunity to win these great products!

    We actually don't really celebrate Valentine's Day! My husband brings home flowers on a regular basis - that means more to me that a flowers that feel required on a certain day.
    For my daughter, I ususally make a little craft/toy for her and we eat a sweet treat!

    I started a cute tradition last year. i bought the cutest little flannel red valentine bag and I add non candy stuff to it and have it ready for my girls after school. last year i did play doh, stickers, pencils and maybe one sucker. that way the focus is not all on the candy! this year I am going to add a book to that!!!! i also made them handmade love cards! i hope to continue this tradtion through high school or maybe their adult life too! i love valentines day!

    We don't really do anything specific for Valentine's Day. My birthday is one week after Valentine's Day and we usually have a big celebration for it so I kind of let V-Day slide. Last year my niece was born on Valentine's Day so it was an extra special day. I think this year we are planning on cooking a nice dinner together at home. Sounds like a great night to me :)

    Our tradition is to have a nice dinner...candles, tablecloth, balloons, flowers, etc. I get a little gift for each person and leave it on their plate, wrapped as spectacular as possible. The end of the meal is usually with a grand dessert - with lots of chocolate.
    Year round we have these small tin mailboxes on the bookshelf - they are for happy mail. Each of us have our own mailbox and there is a basket next to it filled with stationary, blank cards, stickers, etc. Everyone leaves eachother happy mail when the urge arises. But on Valentines Day, everyones boxes are full of hearts, candies, and lots of tiny love notes. This is the kids favorite part of Valentines Day.

    I like to give my 3 kids something small but special on Valentine's Day. My husband and I usually just exchange cards -- he's not into making a big deal of the day.

    Oh how I love Valentine's day! (;
    We'll set up little presents for the breakfast table - which will be sunday-ly decorated with a nice tablecloth, etc.
    We'll have a delicious breakfast together and as it's Saturday seize the day and go out together on a little Geocaching-tour maybe - and in the evening we'll go to our favourite restaurant called "Schwarzwälder Kartoffelhof" where they serve delicious potatoe-dishes in many variations! (;
    IT WILL BE LIKE OUR ANNUAL "Birthday" together! (;
    Lovely greetings from over the ocean!

    I absolutely love Valentine's Day. It's my favorite holiday.
    We celebrate by reliving our engagement. My husband asked me to marry him on February 15 (20 years ago) because we had other plans on the 14th. So many years we watch the movie we went to on our first date or look through our wedding pictures. But mostly, we snuggle. Nothing better than snuggling.
