Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.
[ Three Things is a weekly product series : check out the archives here. ]

We usually don't do anything special for Valentine's Day. I guess it hasn't hurt our relationship, though. We've been married for more than 42 years!

My kids love to help make heart shaped cookies for school, and they fill out their "Balemtimes" for all their friends. School parties are so much fun since they are still so young. Then we have a special dinner at home which is part of the tradition and I make a big heart shaped chocolate chip cookie (like the Mrs. Fields kind)!

For Valentine's Day when my daughter was little, her lunch was PB&J on heart-shaped bread. She still talks about those heart-shaped sandwiches. For me it's chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. Valentine's Day is all about candy; flowers are nice, but candy is to die for!!!

We do the typical jazz... cards for everyone, and maybe a little candy treat for the kids. Last year was the best- my husband's leave during his 15 month tour in Iraq fell over Valentine's Day, and we had a wonderfully romantic weekend get-away to a spa/hotel on the water! It was like heaven on Earth last year.

I love Valentine's Day! We always have lots of heart shaped goodies. heart shaped peanut butter sandwiches. muffins or pancakes. a special heart shaped cake with heart shaped sprinkles after dinner. I have been in a Live, Laugh, Love Club {Once Upon a Family} with a group of my friends for the past few years and they have some fun ideas in their kits for Valentine's day. We have been adding some of those each year. One of my favorite ideas from their kit is the "hearts of loving kindness jar". You first fill a jar with little paper hearts that will be used to record the kind deeds your family does for each other. All month long you write the good deeds on a heart that is then strung on a ribbon that you hang from the chandelier over your dining room table. It is nice to see how kind and loving everyone has been over the month. I try to shower my kids with extra love all day. <3

I've never really enjoyed Valentine's day. I never liked all the hype. But I've decided to get over it and this year I think I'm going to make little heart bouquets with candy. I want to make it fun for my son and celebrate my friendships.

Hmmm...I buy cards to mail to my sisters and kids. I buy a special candy for my kids. I usually don't do anything special for my husband because he loathes hallmark holidays. I didn't think that valentine's was a hallmark holiday but he thinks anything where he's expected to get a card is hallmark related. Last year we did make Ree's (the pioneer woman) Valentine dinner. It was HUGE! And yummy. But EXPENSIVE! the kids and hubster enjoyed it.
TMI. I won't win...that's okay.
Feel good Al...

Our older son is just 4, so we're just working on the traditions. Last year I made heart-shaped pancakes for dinner and put a drop of food coloring in his milk to make it pink. We also made Valentine's cards for all his preschool friends. This year, I'm still hoping to find inspiration....this post helps! :)

We don't have any special traditions really - just exchange cards. Maybe it is time to start some new traditions!

I like to make cookies and other treats for the family and of course CARDS!! We keep it kinda low key - which is nice, gives you a chance to reflect.
That Loving Words stamp set is awesome - that's one to add to my collection for sure.

Now that i have teenagers who love to cook, we have Chocolate Week. Each of us chooses or creates a chocolate based recipe around valentine's day to share with the rest of the family. My husband makes the best truffles!

The past 2 years I have taken my chocolate fountain to the school where I teach and set I it up in the workroom. All of the teachers and staff bring in things to dip like fruit, crackers and other yummies! This is a great treat because it makes the halls smell of chocolate and the students don't have any idea why! It is a huge mess to clean up, but it is totally worth it because the teachers work so hard and they deserve to indulge!!!

I make everyone's favorite dinner - heart shaped or pink. This usually means heart shaped pizza, pink mac&cheese, and pink banana pudding.

Valentine's day is extra special this year because of the birth of our second precious daughter. My husband & I love to exchange gifts and now we will also get gifts for the girls. Well, at least for our 2 year old. I am looking forward to the box of chocolates from my Hubby! Ymmm.
