Wednesday Giveaway : Superhero
Tags:Today I want to celebrate a wonderful blogger, jewelry artist, mother, and life coach who has become a friend: Andrea Scher of Superhero Designs. [ photo below by Boho Girl Denise Andrade ]
Andrea is the reason I began blogging back in 2004. I was working on a project for a workshop about designing with color (& color inspiration) and was searching the internet using the search terms "colorful jewelry." I stumbled onto Andrea's Superhero site (and of course I had to order a handmade necklace as part of my research), started reading her blog and checking out all her inspiring links, and decided then and there that what she was doing was cool and I wanted to start my own blog.
I finally got to meet Andrea in person last summer after corresponding back and forth from time to time over the past four years. It was awesome. She has a heart of gold, a wonderful written voice, and a gift for helping people get in touch with their own inner superhero.
Today, lucky readers, Andrea is giving away a one of her fantastic, colorful bead necklaces. In addition, she has a special holiday sale happening now that includes $20 off necklaces bead necklaces. Passion would make a great gift for a special friend (or a suggestion for a spouse who may need a little help in choosing a Valentine gift).
Here's a little FAQ on her lovely necklaces. She has also added these very cool silver pendant necklaces to her offerings.
To be entered into the drawing today leave a comment that highlights your own personal superpower (or superpowers). And before you think you have none, stop and consider the possibility
for a moment. What is something you are just awesome at? Take a
minute to be proud of something about ourselves and share it publicly.
I bet you are your very own superhero in some very special way.
Comments will be closed at 8pm Pacific tonight with the winner posted shortly after.

oh wow - how fun.
my superpower is that i am a creative thinker. people can give me a theme or a few words or show me a picture and i can quickly come up with a bunch of ideas from what they've given me. i also tend to come up with interesting solutions when it comes to problem-solving.

I remember (almost) everything my husband forgets and I'm awesome at managing our finances! I think though, that my official superpower is USPS bulk mailing. I design/print/mail the church newsletter every week as our church communications secretary (I love my job!). Bulk mailing might not seem like a huge deal, but I do it basically by hand, and the postal system is confusing. A program sorts/prints the labels, but other than that, I have sort the packets by zones, know which bags to use, the minimum piece requirement for ADC bags, and lots more! I'm pretty proud, and how many non-postal workers can they they "get it?" :) And thanks for this giveaway! The necklaces are beautiful and I'd love to win, but honestly, I think the best gift is the reminder to all of us readers that we're pretty special people!

I am excellent at organizing data. it gives me great satisfaction to see everything neatly arranged, organized, and easy to read. Maybe a strange super power, but I'm a little strange too. :)

Great question...I believe my superpower is that I am a giving person. I am always reminded how giving I am. Never thought of it until everyone started bringing it to my attention. I am so glad to be remembered this way! That is my gift to myself!
Thinking of you and your family during one of the most miraculous times of your lives! Enjoy the moments~

oh wow, this is tough. I am good at making people feel special. I like to give of myself and my talents to those that I care about, I get great pleasure from doing that. And I make the best Cinnamon Rolls, thanks to my mom who made them for years when I was a child and now I make them. And am hoping that I pass on these traits to my children, daughter that is 17 and a son who is 7.
Love, love, love that necklace!!!

I would say that my superpower would be that I am an ambitious person. I never give up when I have started something and I work hard to reach my goals...

I am proud to be a very happy person. To me the glass is always half full. I can find a silver lining in all situations. I love the term Superpower, I think I'll add it to my vocab. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day :o)

I always joke that my superpower is that I make milk - after nursing two boys for the last 3 years (consecutively, not concurrently) it's been a very useful and money saving power. But if I'm being introspective, my superpower is listening. I work hard at it, and I believe it pays off. Plus, I've got wicked sharp ears, which pays off big in my middle school classroom.

My superpower is my laid back nature. Many times folks have said they just like being around me because they feel more relaxed and feel they don't have to worry about things.

Beautiful jewelry...
My Superpower? My DS says I'm the best snuggler, I am also the finder of lost items, the fixer of all things broken (hearts too) and smoother of the way.

I am a superhero at keeping a cheerful attitude in tough situations. A friend said once, you are who I would want to be with at a rained out picnic. That just makes me smile.

For many years my super power was lactating. I figure that I was nursing for about8 1/2 years (6 kids). Now that my "baby" is five and I have not lactated in many years, my superpower is family home evening. Once a week, every week, it happens. Believe me, with eight in the family, that takes superpower!
