Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey

Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.

Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!

Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status:  open!

The very best book of all time? The B-I-B-L-E. Reliable, modern, classic, timeless, my rock.

How about A Designer's Eye - scrapbooking with patterned paper (shameless sucking up!). Actually, it is Gone With the Wind, there is so much more to the story than in the movie. Have a great day!

OK - I have to admit that I am currently reading the Twilight Series with my daughter. We had heard so much about it that we decided we needed to see what all of the hype was about. Actually very good so far and I am spending lots of time with my daughter reading. Priceless!

My favourite book and the one that often comes travelling with me so I know I'll have at least one I love is Sword at Sunset by Rosemary Sutcliff, a retelling of the Arthurian legends as a Romano-British war lord fighting to keep the Saxons out of England, beautiful and exciting and sad.
And since I've just started buying picture books for the baby I'm having this summer I'd also recommend Lucy and Tom's Christmas by shirley Hughes - and indeed anything else with her charming illustrations, if you haven't read them you're missing out.

I just finished reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with my kids, I'd forgotten how much I like the Narnia series!
One book that's stayed with me for years is "The Gate to Women's Country" by Sheri Tepper. VERY thought provoking.

I'm in the middle of a great Clive Cussler book, The Plague Ship. But after I finish that, I'm definitely going back and re-reading Twilight. I resisted it for so long (vampires? Werevolves? seriously?) but the love story is just SO good. And I'm a sucker for a good love story.
    Have a great day!

The other day my husband and I were cleaning out an old bookshelf and we came across our two daughters' copy of "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb" by Dr. Seuss. The girls are in their twenties now, but Oh! The beautiful memories the book brought up. The girls could still almost recite every word in the book!

Sadly my reading hasn't been for pleasure lately, I'm half way through Out of Sync Child to help us better understand our son's sensory processing disorder. Light bulb moments.

A good book? That's a difficult question! I think my favorite books are Joanne Harris' novels right now, especially Blackberry Wine. This novel is adorable. I really-really like it!

The best book of the last five years at least - "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. A historical novel, an emotional novel, a novel full of rich characters and amazing insight into life at a nursing home.
