Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey

Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.

Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!

Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status:  open!

Read more specific details for the workshop here

I love way too many books to pick a favorite. I love to read! I am reading the "The Glass Castle: A Memoir" right now and really loving it.

My favorite books right now are children's books - Green Eggs & Ham, Curious George, Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume books. Plus I can't forget Where the Sidewalk Ends. I love sharing these books that I read as a child with my friends' children.

My favorite book is a "children's" book called The Man in the Ceiling by Jules Feiffer. It is about a boy who wants to be a cartoonist, but deals with the criticism of adults as well as his own doubts about his abilities. It is funny and sweet and sharply observed, and inspires me every time I read it to stop focusing on those thoughts that say "I can't do that".

Two books from my childhood, that I have read and re-read as an adult are The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin and Starring Sally J Friedman as Herself by Judy Blume. Both of these books can instantly take me back to being a kid and I love them for it!

I started reading the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series (http://www.evanovich.com/novels/novel) while I was working on my masters as my nightly "brain dump". I needed something fun that I didn't have to concentrate on too hard! They are all light reads with fun and crazy characters.
And I must say, GREAT giveaways today!

I have three favorites that I turn to again and again. One is "The Velveteen Rabbit." It is a children's story but has a great message for all of us about the nature of love. Number two is "Mitten Strings for God." It is not a religious book, but a book about mothering and slowing down to enjoy each ordinary day. Number three is "Gift from the Sea." Written many years ago, but so relevant to women today it speaks to the need for solitude and reflective time.

Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst. I must have read hundreds of books since first picking this up as a kid but nothing can knock it from its pedestal. Seems its catchy too - now my kids ask me to read it over and over.

I wish I read more,(not enough time to do everything that I want to do...) but the book(s) that stand out in my mind are the Berenstain Bear books. I read these to my son all the time and I LOVE THEM! Really good "teaching" stories and they are so colorful and fun - love all of them.

I'd like to pick one of the great works of literature but for books that I read over and over again, it would be Anne of the Island (in the Anne of Green Gables series), Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix and Lord of the Rings. I can't pick a favorite from amongst those three.

I am not a big reader and definitely an early bird so the fact that the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers kept me up almost all night for several nights....uh....weeks...really says something.

I love to see what others are reading, and my bedside table is always overflowing! An old favorite of mine is Barbara Kingsolver's Animal Dreams; a more recent find is Indu Sundaresan's The Twentieth Wife. For those whose enjoyed the Twilight books another fun series is The Mortal Instruments starting with City of Bones.

Wow. These kinds of questions take WAY too much thought for me! :) I LOVE to read, but it's so hard to pick out my favorite. Just like it's hard for me to pick out my favorite movie...but, I'll give it a try! Probably, my all time favorite is: The Velveteen Rabbit. Many others, depending on the week, but I have always loved that one!

Finding time to read these days is hard, but currently im slowly catching up on Pioneer Woman's love story... Since that doesnt really count as a book, ill throw in that my all time favorite book is Little Women. I read it several times as a girl and still cant get enough!

I have passed around Water for Elephants to about a dozen people, it just really touched me. My daughter is in 8th grade so I have been re-reading along with her (To kill a Mockingbird and now The Outsiders).
