Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey
Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.
Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!
Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status: open!
Read more specific details for the workshop here.

It's hard to pick a favorite; I love so many. So, I'll leave you with a suggestions that is a little less famous than say a Jodi Picoult but just as gripping. I loved "The Year of Fog" by Michelle Richmond.

Hmmmmmmm...a favorite book hands down, the Twilight series. I know, cliche, but it has an awesome love story. I'm currently reading The Time Traveler's wife. It is okay...not seeing what everyone else is seeing in it.
The Hunger Games-great read movie is coming out soon

I am currently reading "Catch Me if You Can." It is amazing to see how much energy Frank Abagnale put into outsmarting "the system" instead of getting a real job. The reason I am liking it so much is that I am reading it with my 14 year old son as part of his literature class. I love to read with my kids- and have done so for 16 years. :)

Unfortunately, I don't have time for fiction these days. But I'll still share my favorite book I've read recently since it's been a God-send with my infant, maybe you've read it in regards to yours. It's "Happiest Baby on the Block." I believe because of reading this book and implementing its suggestions is why my 8 week old is sleeping 8 hours at night! Yipee!

Hi Ali,
I just got done reading "Hope Rising" by Kim Meeder. I cried thru the entire thing but it's an AWESOME book about a nonprofit organization right here in Central Oregon that rescues neglected & abused horses and then pairs them with at-risk childrend for mutual healing. It's AWESOME what Kim & her husband Troy are doing...I cried, but loved every page. Really makes you remember just how precious life is and to what a positive difference people can make in both human & animals lives!
Happy Wednesday!
~ Kathy (Hillsboro, OR)

I would definitely have to say Something More: Excavating Your Authentic Self by Sarah Breathnach. As I've approached 25 I've found it hard as a woman and middle sibling to not be further along in my academic career, move towards independence and have been feeling a little beat back by society and what women are expected to be like. Over the 6 months it took me to read the book the content awoke my spirit as an authentic woman defining my own rules for how I should live my life, at my pace and on my terms. I'm am no longe driven by what people think of me, what society should says I should own or should have already done. In a way I've been able to reorganize my life, grow and process myself as a grown woman.I love this new-found hard earned freedom and believe any woman 15-85 should touch this book at one point in their lives. It helped me through a devastating broken engagement and learning that I can live again but just for myself and you know...that's ok.

Two books I recommend (because it is always too hard for me to just choose one!): My Name Is Asher Lev and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Both create more awareness within yourself and have incredible stories.
