Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey
Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.
Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!
Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status: open!
Read more specific details for the workshop here.

The Trixie Belden series. My mother read them as a kid, and then I did, too. I came across them recently and read a few and realized that I've retained so very many lessons from those books :)

I just read a book that has been out for a couple of years. It's called Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin -- It was a book club read and is was wonderful. Of course there is the ever populart Green Eggs and Ham -- we read that baby about 100 times a day at our house:)

I love books so much--it's difficult to pick just 1. But I can at least narrow it down to my 2 all-time favorites:
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
If anyone needs recommendations, I'd be happy to provide a loooooonnnnnggg list. :O)
This prompt reminds me that I need to do a layout on my favorite books! Thanks, Ali!

The Book Thief was interesting! I liked the perspective Markus Zusak uses in telling the story.

I've been loving the Anna Pigeon mysteries by Nevada Barr. They all take place in national parks and Anna is a tough cookie who gets into all sorts of scary scrapes. These are very well written books -- not something you always find with mysteries.

Loved the Twilight books. Excellent. But Kresley Cole has some awesome vampire books also and if you don't like vampire books she also has historical romances.

My favorite book right now is by Dr. James Dobson, called "Bringing Up Boys." I have two little boys, and this book has really helped me see things from a boy's point of view so that I can better relate to them. It helps explain a lot about why boys and men act/think the way they do. :)

My favorite book for me is the Mitford series by Jan Karon - they are amazing and make me feel great every time I read them. My favorite children's book is How Many Trucks Can a Tow Truck Tow? I have read that so many times to all 3 of my kids over the years that I have it memorized and yet I never get tired of reading it!!

For me hand's down, my fave book is "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. It's the only book I've read more than once. I could not put it down. I should plug my mom's book too "For Better or Worse" a good fictional romance with plenty of humor. ;-)
