Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey
Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.
Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!
Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status: open!
Read more specific details for the workshop here.

Ella Minnow Pea. It's the last book my grandmother gave me before she passed away. It's a book about a town who's founded by the guy who came up with, " the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" And every time a letter falls off the sign, the town is forbidden to use that letter, and also the letter disappears in the text of the book. It's a fun read.

One of my favorites is The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst. It is one of those rare books that I read and then immediately wanted to buy for everyone I know and make them read it too! :)

I agree with lots that have already been mentioned, but one that hasn't that I loved was The Blue Bottle Club, a story that of one woman struggling with where her own life is, who, through circumstances winds up tracing the lives of a group of friends who'd shared their dreams for their own future as teenagers and how their lives actually ended up in their senior years - how God's plans for our lives are so much better than what we can imagine for ourselves. It was the kind of book I didn't want it to end, and left me looking above.

A favorite book would be really hard to name... I love The Art of Racing in the Rain, and Water for Elephants. An old favorite of mine that's more of a teen/preteen book is Number the Stars, about WWII. Great books!

I am currently reading The Eleveth Man by Ivan Doig, which is beautiflly written. The best book I've red recently is The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas by John Boyne, but it's about the Holocaust and it's sad. A much lighter toned book I've read recently and enjoyed is The World According to Bertie by Alexander McCall Smith.
