summer is my favorite time of the year... warm sunny days... and it's vacation time. we are currently planning where to go... uhmmm leaning towards bali.

Ahhh! Summer months mean family vacations, beautiful California sunshine, sounds of neighborhood children playing down the street, playing Marco Polo in the pool with the kids..... I can go on and on! Most of all, I love looking forward to CKU events and Creative Escape around the corner!

My favorite thing about the summer months is open windows and fresh air.

I love the summer time because I love being outside. In the garden, in the pool, sitting on the patio drinking lemonade - all outside!

I love so many things about summer... The fresh produce you can get, eating corn on the cob, watermelon and other fresh fruits and veggies. Grilling just about every evening, watching my sun play endlessly outside in the yard, not worrying about having to dress the kids so they'll stay warm. Family gatherings outside, And just being carefree and soaking in the sun and swimming!

All the daylight hours, and not having to bundle up in rain gear all the time!

ahhh summer...a wonderful way of life...taking it easy and finding time to be in the moment...soaking up the sun and the late night breezes. Never have enough of this time of year...barbecues and sweet tea...lotsa fresh veggies and fruits...makes me hungry just thinking about. Then have to find the hammock to lay in and take a long, leisurly nap with your loved ones...nothin' beats a swing in a Pawleys Island Hammock...now that we've downsized and moved into an apt....gotta find a place to hang my hammock...lol

I love the long, playful days being outside with my boys!

The sounds of lawn mowers, birds chirping, children laughing, water spraying from hoses; the scent of fresh cut grass, the warm sun on my face, the vibrant colors that comes with summer - blue skies, green grass, pink, red, purple, yellow, etc., flowers, the days being longer. . . (sigh) . . . I love summer!!!!

Flip Flops and Camping

For me, summer is all about fabulous smells. The delicious smell of a grill going, the oh-so-familiar tropical scent of sunblock, the clean aroma of a pool, the freshness of clothes hung to dry, the fresh cut grass and the basic smell of the warm summer air. Those are my favorite things about summer!

I love that the kids can go outside! Yahoo!

Summer--the word brings back memories of lemonade, watermelon and running through the sprinkler. As an adult summer seems to blend into fall and the only difference is the temperature. Your question has made me realize this and this year I am setting a challenge for myself. I am challenging myself to ENJOY the summer again. Take a few days off to go to the pool, eat a picnic lunch in the park (with lemonade and watermelon), and enjoy the colors/sounds/smells that are ONLY summer.
