Flowers in the garden, fun in the lake, a slightly more relaxed pace and this summer will bring the arrival of our baby girl!

Hmmm ... all these comments so far have reminded me of things I love about summer. My first thought, though, was the unscheduled days and the excuse to be lazy: "it's too hot to do anything."

The best thing about summer... Hmmm there are quite a few things to choose from. But best part is (I know, not very unique...) spending the day at the beach by the sea. Playing with the kid in the sand, taking a bath now and then, turn over to get an even burn, read a good book, eat water melons and drink lemonade and not be in ANY sort of hurry. That is life for me, what I dream about all the long and cold winter.

I love summer BBQ's, cold beer, and hanging out with friends!

I have two favorite parts about summer...1)No school! As a teacher, I love sleeping in and doing whatever I want for 2 months! and 2) Flip flops!

Cute kits! My favorite thing about summer is the relaxed schedule (I work in academia). Work still has to be done, but the pace is slower.

i love sleeping in! i also love having less of a schedule and going to the pool with my kids.

I love have 6 weeks to spend with the children. I really miss them when they're in school.

This summer will be the first in 5 years I will not be taking any graduate courses - I can't wait to spend the time with my two sons!

My favorite thing about summer is not having to get up by the alarm clock!

Being able to play outside with the kids all day and soak in the sun and then sitting outside with a glass of wine after they go to bed at night. Love every minute of it!

Sleeping in, going to the pool, sound of children's laughter, no homework, no packing lunches, no running to and from activities... just the beginning of the best part of summer.

My favorite thing is watching my son playing in his kiddie pool for hours in the backyard :)

I love sitting on the back porch and watching my 6 year old son playing in the backyard. His imagination is endless and it's so refreshing to watch.

My favorite thing about summer is No School!! I love spending time with my kids at the pool, picnics, 6 flags etc! I also love the colors of summer, I garden and love seeing the different flowers come and go. I am still working on how to have continous blooms through out the season.

I love longer daylight hours and not having to wear a coat!

I love so many things about Summer; lazy summer days, cookouts, playing in the pool, our zoo visits.
But my absolute favorite is that my birthday is in June, my daughter's in July and my husband's is in August. So Summer pretty much means our family constantly celebrating each other. How can you not love that?
