My husband and I met during a summer music festival we both worked at in Brevard, NC. We celebrate this every summer by visiting Brevard and remembering our first summer together!

Wow! What a giveaway! I want it all! :)
I don't know if you would consider this a tradition, but one of the things I miss about "home" in the summer is the smell of fresh cut hay...my Dad turned 69 in early June and is still baling small squares mostly for the horse people in the area and I'm trying to figure out how to bottle the smell of the barn full of alfalfa hay! I love how smells and sights and sounds can bring memories flooding back! Amazing.

Soaking up the fun of our local treasures: Panama Rocks, the Presque Isle beaches, the Cherry Festival in my home town, outdoor concerts, the farms...
Ahh....I LOVE SUMMER!!! It makes the long, cold Erie winter worth it!

My favorite summer tradition takes place on the fourth of July. We spend the week at the lake and the fireworks display is on the lake,so everyone goes out in their boats and watches them from their boats. It is absolutely beautiful w/the fireworks reflected in the water and all of the boat lights twinkling. By far, my fave summer tradition.

We are lucky because my parents live "down the shore" so we go to the beach as many weekends as we can. Getting rock hard ice cream from the ice cream man is still fun even though my girls are 19 and 21.

My favorite summer tradition is our July 4th BBQ... that is also my sons' birthday, and over the years the party has evolved from a simple family to a kiddie to a big bash for our friends and family.

My favorite summer tradition is our annual family reunion. We are the only ones that live on the other side of the nation from everyone else and it's nice to know we ALWAYS have that one time set aside during the year when we spend a week together.

It's hard to keep a family tradition going when your kids get to be 20 and 14!! But one tradition that we have been able to keep all these years has been on the 4th of July we always cook out and watch the City's fireworks together!! We used to live close enough to lay on the trampoline in our back yard and watch the sky!

One of our summer traditions is that my girls have a sleepover with their dad in the playhouse in the backyard. That and our weekends at our lakehouse make the summer our favorite season.

we celebrate Christmas in July so there are no inclement weather traveling conditions for our family. we decorate the backyard with a christmas tree and lights and draw names each july for the next july. our family just loves it and its done at such a relaxed time of the year that no one is "rushing" about at Christmas. Thanks for the opportunity of the winning these fabulous give-aways.

I've just moved to Bangkok, Thailand. Here it's permanently summer! We've been here a month and the 'tradition' we've formed so far is the chocolate frappe we have whenever language classes have been particularly challenging... :-)

My favorite summer tradition is going to the spray park near out house and watching my son have the time of his life. Watching him and all the kids running around laughing and smiling is my idea of the perfect summer day.
