Day trips to a local lake has always been a tradition at our house. Even the dog gets to go and share in the fun of swimming and a cookout.

Mine is definitely outside cooking and relaxing with an ice cold beer or a nice glass of wine while the kids play in the inflatable pool. The only thing i missing is a hammock.

my favorite summer time tradition is eating our dinner outside on the patio with my husband, with fresh air, the sound of birds, an ice tea in my hand, and a smile on my face.

When I was a kid, every summer we looked forward to visiting my grandparents in the Missouri Ozarks... walks in the woods, collecting "flowers" (weeds), swimming w/ a massive inner tube.
My grandmother moved to the city after my grandpa died 7 yrs ago; the other night I dreamed about taking my 4 yr old and 1 yr old to their house in the woods!

Thanks, Ali - I found some cute things at Ormolu & snatched 'em up. :-)
During our summer we make sure to celebrate patriotism throughout the summer (Flag Day/4h of July) and we take time to visit the beach AT SUNSET to recharge our batteries. I enjoy cooking the 'cooler' recipes in my collection. We also go for daily family walks if the weather allows (summer is rainy season in Florida).
They're simple things but I also know that the kids are going to remember these as the best times.
Blessings to all,

My favorite summer tradition is our family vacation at the Outer Banks. There's 11 of us now and we only see each other once a year. It's a wonderful week of family, food, and fun!

A favorite summer tradition is just taking it a little easier than we do during the school year. Still have hockey and cheer, but not at the same pace. Staying up later, more friends time, going to the beach.
