We recently started a new tradition where we meet up with other families at our neighborhood pool on Friday nights and have pizza and hang out. Lots of fun for the kids and parents.

One of our favorite summer traditions is going to the drive in. Not too many left around any more...but we're lucky to have a cool one..it's just at the base of the mountains & always have the newest movies. They also grill on the weekends so you can eat there. We just went the other night & saw transformers...and even cooler you can take your pets...so our dog came too!

While blowing up as much as we possibly can on he 4th is a time honored traditon in our family, I really thnk just slowing down and taking time to re connect with each other is my favorite thing. School is out for both me and my children and we just get to "play". Love that!

Oh, wow...those are such nice giveaways. Our favorite summer tradition is really quite simple. We live in Chicago where we only have such a very short warm season so, grilling and sitting out on the deck are what we enjoy most. Also, we have Taste of Chicago, a weeklong foodfest, which is tremendously fun and of course, tasty!

Our tradition is going the cabin that was built by my grandparents. I went as a kid every summer, and now my husband and I take our kids.

My sister(45), SIL(47) and myself(38) take one tubing ride each summer and each summer we tell ourselves this will be the last. My brother pulls us behind the boat and between out laughing and screaming - we create pain and lasting memories. Could this year be out last.

One of our favorite things to do is to go to our local Canada Day celebration on July 1st.
We sit on the bank of the lake and swat mosquitos as we wait for the fireworks. (it really doesn't matter how much repellant you put on, the mosquitos still come!)
Once the fireworks begin we oooh and aaah together, along with the rest of our community. It is a great feeling to be a part of it all.
