My favourite tradition hands down would have to be going to the fireworks at the Argyle Abuptic Festival. We go out in the harbour on a friend's fishing boat, boil some lobster and steam some mussels, and watch the fireworks above us. Being directly underneath the fireworks as they explode is definitely the best way to watch them!

Our favorite summer traditions are picnics at the beach, family camp in the mountains, and fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden. Hurray for summer!

My favorite summer tradition?! Snowcones! When I was a little girl, my stepdad used to take me and my sister to get snowcones. We didn't exactly have the strongest relationship, but this was one time when we could all go together and have some fun.

Our favorite tradition is kids cook night. My 10, 7, and 3 yr old choose the recipe they want to make and then cook (with my help) one night a week. I love it because they choose things that I might not have. And I love that my boys are learning to cook. My 3 yr old and I make pizza on Friday nights. I feel like the rest of the year they are so busy with school and homework and sports that there is not enough time to get them in the kitchen. So summer is the perfect time to do this.

My favorite summer tradition is to get up early on Saturdays so that I can be one of the first people at the farmer's market (a five minute walk from my house). I love the smell of basil, cilantro and mint first thing in the morning.

A summer tradition for our family is the great Minnesota State Fair at the end of August! I have been there every year as long as I can remember. My mom even went into labor with me getting ready for the fair. My husband and I have now taken our kids every year for the past 7. Love it!

I love just have the time to spend with my kids. We are out of the house everyday doing something fun. We go to the farm to pick fresh fruit and veggies, we swim, swim, swim, and have lots of cookouts with our family and friends.

At our house, we love going out for ice cream and laying in the park, watching the hot air balloons come and go from the local festival.

For two years now we hae begun the tradition of going to Ft. Lauderdale to spend Memorial Day with my aunt, her family, and my grandmother. It is a long weekend that we have begun looking forward to, and it is the perfect way to kick off the summer.

As a child, I remember catching lighting bugs after dark with my sister and friends. We'd put glass jars full of them next to our bed at night and watch them glow.
I'd love to begin a tradition of going to our local Shakespeare festival. I went one with friends and had a picnic under the stars while we watched a play. Had so much fun!
As always, I love your sponsors! Just beautiful!

Hi Ali, we don't have a favorite summer tradition, yet, but we are working on it. This is Alex's first summer. He is 17 months and it was too hot for him last year. Righ now we are going to the pool, playing on his water mat, sand and water table, eating popsicles....I hope to continue this new tradition in the years to come.

Summer Friday Projects...we are on a summer schedule with Fridays off...a "free" day to do those projects that have been on the to-do list way too long...like 'organize the recipe file'
I love summer.
