My Favourite summer tradition....since I was a kid I have loved going to the beach for the whole day - taking a picnic lunch and our sand toys and swimming all afternoon. Now though I don't have kids my husband and I love to go boating and swimming..and when we are blessed with kids I hope they love the water as much as I do!

A favorite summer tradition for us is going to Hershey Park. It is a fabulous, family oriented amusement park and my kids have enjoyed going annually now for 6 years. We'll be there again this summer in August!

I'm doing something we did every summer as children but I haven't done for decades - drive from Montreal to Quebec City and maybe even Ste. Anne de Beaupre.

My favorite summer tradition is going to the St. Paul, Oregon rodeo on/around the 4th of July. I grew up going every year and have so many childhood memories of hanging out, eating the food, riding rides, meeting up with friends, and of course the rodeo itself. Now that I live on the other side of the country I can't go every year, but I still consider it a tradition! :)

My favorite summer tradition is a trip to the Drive In movie theater. They aren't as common as they were when I was growing up, but we have found a couple quite a drive away but worth every minute. Getting out the lawn chairs, cooler with drinks, snacks, and of course a trip to the concession stand for buttered popcorn. The kids in their PJ's ready for when they finally go to sleep in the car usually by the time the second movie starts. The noise from a baby crying, trucks going down the highway, the usual late comer forgetting to turn off his headligts. All of it is magical!

At least once during the summer we have to go to the pier and have fish and chips. I absolutely love sitting outside soaking up the sunshine with the gentle breeze having my meal.

My favorite summer tradition starts before summer, around April when I get to check my miles and points, combine them all and pay for my parents anual visit to see their grandchildren, its the best feeling to be able to do this for both my parents and my kids!
