Summer traditions for me include, wedding hopping with my mom, watching 4th of July fireworks on the beach with the family, and LOADS of photography around the sprinklers and slip-n-slide;)

My favorite summer tradition is the family barbeque on the Fourth of July. My dad made the BEST barbeque! The Fourth also happens to be his birthday, so it's always been a combination holiday/birthday celebration. When we were little, my mom would tell us that all the fireworks were for Daddy's birthday. When you're five, it makes perfect sense that everyone is celebrating your dad's birthday! My dad died in September and this will be the first fourth/birthday without him.

Yummy giveaways! Summer means long pool hours and cold watermelon. It is short here in WI so we try to make a most of it :)

Breakfast outside on the weekends. The kiddos love it and I have gotten creative with cooking on the grill.

Each summer we enjoy going to all the local festivals, some haven't changed much since I was a kid, but I love the memories that surround them.

One of my favorite summer traditions is getting a giant watermelon and seeing how far we can spit the seeds- all the while having watermelon juice dripping down our shirts!

My fave summer tradition (that actually extends past "summer" ususally, because we live in SoCal) is having pool parties at my parent's house with the ENTIRE extended family. We have huge cookouts and people come and go when they need to, and we see everyone we love. Lots of fun and hilarious conversations (my family is full of "characters" lol) are sure to ensue!

One of our family summer traditions is going up north to the cottage and the kids go to camp during the day and then come back to the cottage for tubing and boating and dinner and then back out on the boats. The kids have a blast and hopefully this year we will set a new tradition as we are buying kayaks to use as a family.
