It's a small thing, but when it just starts to get hot, I make a huge pitcher of lemonade. The pitcher is always full, we drink lemonade all summer long. As soon as my kids see our red lemonade pitcher come out they know summer is truely here.

love me some jenni
we love getting out the lawn chairs - putting on the sprinkler and watching the kiddos play in the grass...not sure the neighbors love our idea of fun since the front yard is our hot spot but we have a great time...

Summer is my favorite time of the year, so I love so many things about it ... catching fireflies, grilling out, eating ice cream and slushies, swimming, vacationing. And now I'm loving the beginning of sharing all those things with my 2-year-old daughter.

The last day of school I take our three girls to have Summer pedicures. Nothing like pretty toes for flip flops and sandals.

We try to find the 'best of' something in our area. Last summer was ice cream. This year it is playgrounds. We keep a chart of our visits and record the highlights, lowlights, etc.

We take our kids to the Avi Hotel in Laughlin, Nevada, with our SeaDoos with 4 other families for a 4-5 day trip in July - we take SOOOOOO many pictures and have such a great time!

Water balloon volleyball!! Set up a net, and each team has a sheet with which to toss and catch a water balloon. First team to let the balloon fall on the ground and break looses a point to the other team. Lots of fun!

A favourite summer tradition? I try to finish one big quilt a year and, as a teacher, the summer holidays are a good opportunity to fit in some quality quilting time. However, with a 3yr old DD we are also creating some new traditions - like her birthday ! Thanks for the chance to win great stuff like this !

We have a few...including going to the Riverwalk to see the fireworks on the Fourth of July, but one of my favorite simple family traditioss is eating ice pops on the front porch swing to cool off during a break from summer chores. :)Love the question.

oh ali, what great giveaways!!! our summer tradition: my parents always took me and my sisters to the gulf coast, where we would fish, build sand castles, catch crab, swim in the ocean, and get SUPER dark...now that we're older, my husband and i are trying to do that for my daughter with my family as well.

I am a teacher so my favorite summer traditions involve relaxing and just taking a break. I get to spend more time with my niece, get to scrapbook more, do some leisurely reading, and just relax my mind. The school year is so busy, so it's nice to use the summer to unwind and get refreshed for the next year.

One of my favorite traditions is getting homemade peach salsa (from a favorite vendor) at the local farmers market...with the season, you can only get it a short time, so you have to enjoy it while it lasts!
