We love going to the beach EVERY weekend during the summer if possible. Playing in the sand and running from the waves. Not to mention having a picnic and just spending the day together. Nothing better!

We have a summer tradition of heading to my parent's ranch in Idaho. Some of my other siblings come at the same time and all our kids get to play together. There is a creek that the kids can wade in on my dad's property; tractor rides; horseback riding; fishing ... all sorts of fun summer activities. Just three more weeks until we head up there!

Each summer we drive to northwestern Wisconsin where we join with my husband's siblings and their families. We have cottages of our own but always share our evening meal together, taking turns hosting and providing the meal. My husband's grandparents began vacationing in these cottages in the 1920's and we continue the tradition with our children and grandchild. We have so much fun relaxing and reconnecting with family members who now live on the west coast and the midwest :)

My favorite summer tradition is spending lots of time with my 3 kids! With school out we actually have time to do things together (they're 17, 14 & 8) like swimming, going to the beach and taking vacations!

Going to my grandparents' ranch in TX. We had the best times riding horses and driving the Jeep...even when we weren't old enough to officially drive. Love the "olden" days.

One of our favorite summer traditions is making and canning salsa from the tomatoes and peppers we grow in our backyard garden! Yum!

My Favorite summer tradition is watching the Symphony of Fire, a fireworks display and competition, that is held in the harbor of Vancouver every summer for four days.

A tradition in my family, long before I was born, is to have summertime meals of unlimited fresh corn on the cob and tomato slices out of the garden. It may not sound like much of a meal, but it is refreshing and delicious with tastes that don't exist outside of the summer months!

A summer favorite for me (and the kids) is making good use of our hose :-) Between sprinkler fun, slip n slide action and just plain hosing them down while they try and run away from it - good, easy fun!!!

Weekend getaway adventures. We love getting in the car and getting out of town for the weekend, sometimes completely spontaneously. As long as there's a fresh battery in my camera and plenty of sunshine I don't care where we go! :)
