My favorite summer tradition is cookouts on the rocks and my family's lake house in upstate NY. It's a great, relaxing way to end a day.

A great summer tradition that, alas, we no longer have: a week long family fishing trip to a lake along the Mississippi. Dad would rent a cabin and we would be up before dawn, heading up the river in our little fishing boat. Everybody was bundled up and shivering in the cold morning mist. But when the sun would finally come up, we'd begin shedding the extra clothes and enjoy a wonderful day fishing in the summer sun.

My favorite summer traditions:
Kiddie pools in the back yard
otter pops - LOTS of otter pops
neighborhood bbq
blaring the music from the 80's
dancing - kids dancing, grown-ups dancing, kids embarassed by grown-up dancing
food
and this is over the course of the summer. These little events just sort of happen. It starts with the neighbor bringing over some mail accidentally left in their box, or needing to borrow a cup of sugar. Next thing you know the kids are in the pool and everyone is bring something for he grill.
They are the BEST days!!!

This summer is special for me. I passed all my exam at the university, so there is no more studying! I think I need some new tradition this summer, but one of my favorite old is spending time whit my friend. I want to keep this tradition even if it will probably difficult...

My favorite summer tradition is going to family reunion with my mom's side of the family. We always find a fun place to get together where there's plenty to do and lots to see but also where there's lots of room and opportunity for us to spend time as a family, tell stories, play games and enjoy each other.
