The beach is the cornerstone of all our summers. No summer is complete without playing in the surf, fishing, sunbathing and reading in the shade.

My favorite summer tradition is going to the farmer's market on Saturday morning for fresh local fruits and vegetables and cooking on the grill as much as possible. When my son's were young my favorite summer tradition was my husband setting up the tent in the backyard and the three "guys" camping out overnight. I got to come out when we made s'mores and told ghost stories and then I had to go back into the house for the night so the "guys" could rough it in the great outdoors! I sure do miss those days.

Our favorite summer tradition is to let the kids stay up late, catch fireflies, & cook s'mores over a fire pit in the backyard.

A new favorite summer tradition is to actually sit down for a bit and enjoy an iced coffee while watching the kids run through the sprinkler!

My favorite summer tradition is our annual mom's and son's beach camping trip. My sister and I take our four boys camping for four days...fun, fun, fun! I look forward to it every year.

I can't really say it is a tradition, yet, but we have really enjoyed camping with our boys for the first time. They are ages 3 and 6, and they LOVE it. We've become camping phenoms this year!!

Working with my husband on Saturday morning. He does the yard, I do the house, then we can kick back and relax for the rest of the weekend. During summer we quickly fall in to the pattern.

I am so excited as this year we are starting up an old tradition that was lost for a few years. My husbands family is going to start having the family reuion this summer like we used to after many years. In the past we used to have them every year and they were so fun. We decided we want our kids and grandkids to know the family, especially before some are gone.

Generally, one night a week, we go and get ice cream at our local ice cream parlor. It is so much fun ... just to chill and eat drippy ice cream cones!

Every year growing up, as a family, we went to the amusement park Cedar Point to ride rollercoasters all day.

A favourite summer tradition has got to be Canada Day on July 1st! We always walk down to the harbour for the village festival and fireworks. By evening there are thousands of people down by the waterfront and the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. We love to spend this day together as a start to the summer.
