Sitting out on the porch or back patio in the evenings with my family with a cool drink enjoying the summer nights. Smelling the wet grass from the sprinklers, or fresh cut grass from someone mowing the lawn, the smell of the grill cooking, hearing the crickets, the best is hearing kids playing outside.

Going to Grandma's house because she has a great pool. Playing and laughing with my children is the best tradition of all!

i just love sleeping in, having full days of doing nothing but swimming, making lemonade, going to the library, having friends over, and then waking up to another day of the same thing!

One of our favorite summer traditions is the big Freedom Celebration our church does. It's on the Sunday closest to the 4th of July. We have inflatables, people set up their chairs and share whatever's in their coolers, and we have a HUGE fireworks display.

My favourite summer tradition is coming up with a new "summer journal" idea for each of my five kids. then we spend time together every day writing in them.

I live on a farm, and in the summer we grow fresh produce and sell it at our roadside stand...so my summer tradition is working out there.

My favorite summertime tradition is our 4th of July Celebration. We have done it every year for the last 19 years. I only missed one of them due to an impossible work schedule. We start out the day by arriving in a neighboring town around 8am to get our "spot" for the 10am start to the parade. We are always go with my DH's best friend and his wife and son. After the parade, we head home to pack to go get our "spot" at our local college campus to BBQ and watch the fireworks. We usually arrive at 1pm and stake out a spot big enough for almost 50 people. All of our children and their family and friends and our friends and their families and friends show up. We get as close as we are allowed to the let-off area by security. Nothing like feeling fireworks in your chest!
Have a great day.

our favorite summer tradition is to take one week out of our summer and spend it on the northern california coast. we all love the beach, and the few summers that we had to forego it, left us feeling un-reenergized. so from then on, we've always made a point of heading to cooler, peacefaul coastlines...

our favorite summer ritual is making our own Popsicles. the kids peek over the edge to make sure I fill each container all the way to the top. then we put them in the freezer and wait. they ask me every 15 minutes, "are they ready?" when they are finally frozen, we go outside and savor every drip together. Its an amazingly quiet time with lots of slirps and smiles. I LOVE it!

Our family's favorite summer tradition is the week we spend at grandpa's cabin. There we live with little and yet have unforgettable memories of fun. Turtle hunting, swimming, ice cream trips to town and game night for a week.

my favorite summer tradition is taking advantage of the time I have (I;m a teacher who gets summers off!) I love to spend time with family and friends and capturing these moments with my camera. Movies, picnics, babysitting, anything is great when we're together and I love to capture that fun on film.

After we got engaged, my (now) husband and I went to the N.C. beach for a day trip. It was my first time to the beach on the East Coast (I grew up in WA state) and I loved it! Ever since then (2005) we have made a beach trip each summer. Every year has been different for us. The first summer, we were an engaged couple, the next fairly newlyweds, the next I was pregnant with our first baby, last year we took our first baby with us and this year I am pregnant with our 2nd! It's such a sweet tradition and a time that I cherish.

This has been a tradition of my mama and I for years now and that is we have movie nights. We pick a night a week and watch a genre of movies like romance, action, disney or my favorite holiday cartoons. To me, if we do not have these nights it just isn't summer. Thanks for the chance!
