As a child, our family was always camping at the lake during the summer. It was hot, no air, but as I look back, I remember the wonderful times we had boating, fishing and sitting around the fire at night. On Sundays, my parents would make us get up early, get ready for church up in the bath-house, and drive back to our home church which was about 45 minutes away. I hated that at the time but looking back now, I see the values they planted in our lives.

My favorite summer memories are centered around our lake home. We had so much fun swimming most of the day. I would get up and get into my swimsuit and wouldn't change until night time. We would have camp fires on the beach. Summers were always special.

One of my favorite summer memories was sneaking into the garden and crawling along on our tummies and eating the fresh peas on the pod. At night, we'd play hide and seek and hidek amongst the corn rows. My gosh, that was sooo fun. My Mom would be upset with us running through the rows and damaging her veggies!

My favorite childhood memory was when I was in the second grade and my parents through a surprise party for me for my birthday. I thought it was odd that my dad walked me to Fred Meyers and let me get the biggest bottle of bubble bath I have ever seen. When I got home there were a ton of kids and a huge birthday cake waiting for me. It was a really good day.

My favorite childhood memory is being in the kitchen and my parents (Dad made it, Mom did the magic) making milkshakes for the four of us. They magically changed color when they poured it into the glass. Seriously, I didn't even know how they did it until high school! We still talk about how cool that was.

My favorite childhood memory is my 4th birthday party. It was awesome from what I remember. We had a giant party outside. Balloons, pinata, and a raggedy Ann cake. I should scrapbook this memory.

My favorite summer memory from childhood.....Going to the drive-in. We would pop a brown grocery bag full of popcorn, fill the cooler up with cold drinks, throw the lawn chairs in the back of the station wagon and away we would go. My DH and I are reviving that tradition with our own kids. Ahh the memories.

My favorite summer memories of being a kid are going to my grandparents' beach house, hanging out at the beach, sleeping 7 kids in sleeping bags on the living room floor, and eating great meals prepared by my grandmother. Great memories!

The members of a 70's band used to live in our quiet neighborhood where there were lots of kids. During the summer all of us kids would hang out at the house where The Four Freshmen practiced in their garage and just listen to their cool, live music!
