When we were kids my mom and dad would take the whole family to the beach. It was so much fun. We would swim and feed the seagulls. I continued the tradtion with my kids.

Picking and eating fresh strawberries with my grandmother at her childhood home in the hills of Kentucky. Sweet, simple life.

My favorite summer time memory is going camping. Growing up in Houston, TX there wasn't exactly an opportunity to "truly" camp. Every summer my family would load up and go to Colorado for a week to a special little place we found. It was a small camp ground up a tiny dirt path. We would tent camp for a week next to a lake. My dad (the best camping cook) would always cook in dutch ovens (chicken and rice & peach cobbler to name a couple dishes). We would fish all morning, watch the daily thunderstorms roll in every afternoon and fish some more in the evenings. There was even a family of beavers that lived in the area. It was heaven on earth.

When I was a child, my family lived in So Cal and we spent nearly every weekend at the beach. Not just the big holiday weekends: Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, but nearly every other weekend as well. I have such great memories of being with not just family, but meeting up with friends. Thanks for the prompt to consider those memories.

How lovely! Thank you for the great giveaway!
My favorite childhood memories would have to be all the days I would spend in the summer running around in our yard and climbing our two huge live oak trees--so much fun! I still have dreams that I'm back at that house. Such a wonderful time in my childhood; happy and carefree! :)

Fantastic! Thanks for the chance. I love Elle's studio and I promised myself a shopping spree there once I am done mat leave! My fav memory is walking in the heat to the corner to get ice cream with my Grandfather. I remember liking the fact that he didn't walk too fast!

Camping at the beach every summer with my family. My dad would drop us off for a week with my mom (he hated the beach). My mom then kept doing it with my boys (her grandkids). Now, I still go camping. My mom has the trailer for the first 2 weeks and I have it for the last 2 weeks. In fact, I am camping at the beach right now for another week. My grandkids are coming tonight for a day. Heaven.

When I was younger we lived on a cul de sac and all of the kids on the street used to get together at my best friend's house at the bottom of the street and we'd play endless games of kick the can. Usually we replaced the can with a soccer ball and whenever the older boys kicked it, it would end up across the street usually hitting the door or the fence of an older lady who would come out and threaten to phone the police! (she never did, I think she actually liked us!) Life was so simple! :)

Boat rides to the "boat beach" with my dad. Beach days with my mom and little brother and sister. Sleep-overs with my cousin. Going to the races (auto racing that is). Playing outside. Slip and slide and Grammy's. Swimming at the bridge. Hiking in the White Mts. Canobie Lake.

One of my fav memories of childhood summers was going to our family cabins at the lake and swamping the canoe with my sisters and friends. I also loved to go for nature walks to see the eagle's nest and to pick blueberries.

Playing in my grandfather's garden! It was small but just still enough for some backyard adventures :)

Oh I miss the summers of my chidhood. The freedom! I have some great memories of camping, learning to waterski, the ocean, going barfoot and having no worries. My favorite would be the day we moved into our new home when I was 11, on the 4th of July. I lit fireworks (sparklers and snakes) in celebration. That is still my favorite place we ever lived. Sweet thoughts.

I can remember laying out on a blanket underneath the stars with my 4 brothers & my mom. We would watch for falling stars and search for constellations. I will always cherish those moments.

My favorite summer memory is when we'd spend a week down home @ my Great Grandma's house. That's where all my cousins were, and boy did we have fun. We would play in the hay barn, go wading in the creek catchin' craw dads, then go help my Great Uncle milk the cows in the afternoon. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, that will certaily have to be one of my 12 stories to tell!

I loved getting ice cream from the ice cream truck that went through our neighbourhood at night. Once in a while mom and dad would surprise us and we'd all run out to get some. Yummy!

Getting to spend my long visits with my dad and step mom. I moved in with them during highschool, but their home was always a bastian of safety, love, boundaries, and all the things that "normal" kids experienced. We camped, played at the lake, made ice cream, and got a lot of mosquito bites. Love you Mom and Papa!
