My fave summer memory is: sitting up in the apple tree with a tuna sandwich, a sketch pad, and a book...I spent hours up there, dreaming, creating, thinking, and learning. :)

Helping my grandma pick vegetables from the garden. We'd then spend the next few days canning the things we'd picked. My favorites were the strawberry jam and homemade pickles...not together, of course.

My favorite childhood summertime memory is the cross-country trip my father took us on when I was about 10 years old. National Parks, Washington D.C., the Statue of Liberty, Philadelphia, Civil War Battlefields. It was all great. I'll never forget it.

sleeping until 10am and then watching David Letterman. He was even funny in the morning.

One of my favorites is making small villages from grasses, branches and other nature items at my grandparents house. They weren't typical grandparents because they didn't have toys for kids so we grandchildren had to be imaginative. Yet, it's one of my favorite memories with my cousins;o) Just a reminder that we as parents don't need to get our so much stuff but need to encourage them to use their own imaginations;o)

I remember hours on end of playing Barbies with my sister in our basement. It was always cool there...and sometimes we'd even have lunch there. I also remember riding my bike around the block. It would feel like flying, and a tad adventurous to be where I couldn't see my house!

My favorite childhood memory is of my grandmother taking me to school every morning; the bus ride and the conversations we had.

Tough call... wonderful memories of family vacations, time to read, etc. but I think my favorite is going out for ice cream on hot summer nights. The sweet, cold treat, and the escape from the house, but best of all hearing from my mom about how my grandpa used to take her and her siblings out for ice cream in their old convertible. Family tradition makes it that much sweeter.

I Love Elle's Studio, sooo cute! My favorite summertime memory is playing hide and seek with all of the neighborhood kids, There must have been about 35 and we lived on a circle-like cudasac, so there wer lots of places to hide! I loved that.

Camping every weekend. At night, we always kept a lookout for the 'neighborhood' skunk. You could always here the camp sites down the way saying "Here comes the skunk" or "Watch out for the skunk." What fun times! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

Doing sparklers on the front porch of my grandparents' old house as the fireflies twinkled around us...eating raspberries off the bushes and peas straight from the garden...reading and sewing and playing cards for hours in their big red kitchen. How I miss that place and those times.

I loved being one of four little red-haired girls (only 5 years between youngest to oldest) in the summer time months. We played outside from morning to night and often fell asleep with dirty little feet from our barefoot escapades. My favorite memory is of the "tents" mom helped us make by draping colorful blankets and tablecloths over the clothesline. We brought out little tables and chairs for tea parties or laid on the ground underneath to read a favorite book. They were simple times, but we felt like pampered princesses!
