Oh I have so many great ones but my favourite would have to be the days spent on my bike with my friends riding around to all the swimming holes in our home town and all of us kids gathering at the biggest swimming hole and spending a day of screaming good fun with swings in trees, tractor tubes, swimming races, mud fights, making creek bank slides on the steepest parts of the bank, sizzling hot days where even the water seems lazy. Wearing your grungiest clothes with out a care in the world because you were having so much fun. Imagining it now a can still feel that thrill of leaving the house in the morning and heading out swimming for the day. Oh so many funtimes. Then at lunch time sending your little brother or sister (who mum said had to tag along) up to the corner store to get everyones order of ice-creams and hot chips (french fries). My home town used to have ALOT of kids and we had a freedom undreamed of now. The general ethos was "your house is my house" and also to a certain extent your "parents are my parents" so if you were being naughty you got the same treatment as your friend. The whole town seemed to watch out for us and if you were seen doing something not quite right you'd go home in the evening to your parents who knew exactly what you'd done. The town doesn't seem to have the same amount of kids now and my 14 year old has missed out on such blissful days and I think it's sad that it has come to a stage where a child is no longer as safe in his/her community as they are at home.

My favourite childhood memory from summer time in Australia was having christmas lunch with all our extended family in a park by a crystal clear freshwater stream and playing the annual cricket match after lunch. Good Times!!

Being able to go on two vacations. Usually one week at the shore and one week somewhere else. Didn't realize then how lucky a kid I was.

ICE COLD WATERMELON with lotsa salt. Sittin' outside on top of the picnic table with my 5 siblings eating huge chunks of watermelon. Passing the container of Morton's salt around the table. Being the youngest & the smallest i always got to sit in the middle of the table and pass the salt back & forth.

One of my favorite childhood summertime memories was going to the pool everyday. We lived close enough to walk and were there almost every day.

My favorite childhood summer memory is going to Bear Lake. Living in Utah, it was the closest thing to the ocean we got! The whole neighborhood got together and all my friends were there. Fun times!

My favorite summer memory is going over to my grandparents' house on the lake and swimming. My dad would jump in and swim under the water and scare me and my sister. It was the best!

sucking on frozen watermelon & pineapple, whilst running through the sprinkler, dressing in our togs (swimming costumes). Sadly, my children can't do this anymore, because of severe water restrictions!

Every summer my parents would rent a cabin on a lake 'up north' in Michigan. We six kids would have a blast while my dad took home movies
