my favourite summer time child hood memory would be going to the lake with my parents and brother. it always felt so magical to all be there together in the hot weather. we had to drive for about 1.5 hours to get there and get up really early, so that all added to the excitement:)

We spent most weekends camping with my cousins every summer. We played and explored and had the best time in the world!

My favorite summer memories are spending a few weeks at each of my grandmother's homes. There I was able to learn so much about my families stories, be around my cousins and other family members that I didn't get to see as we didn't live near them. I so wish those times were back but I do cherish them more than ever since I've started scrapbooking.

My favorite childhood memory is hearing the sound of the ice cream truck and chasing after it for a cool treat. We recently heard it in our neighborhood and my 6-year-old daughter didn't know what it was. So sad! I told her that next time it comes around, we'll chase it down and buy a treat!

My family always went camping for our vacation (too poor to stay in hotels). I always loved going on hikes and seeing really beautiful places. We went to Yosemite many, many times and most of the state parks in California. My most favorite place to go, though, was my grandfather's cabin that was near Mount Lassen, just outside the town of Mineral. It was a long, rocky dirt road to get in and we never had a 4W drive vehicle so we often got out of the car and let my dad drive it in carefully. We got to go canoeing on a small lake that had a lot of fish in it. My grandparents both loved to fish. I hated eating fish though so that wasn't so good. But I loved being out in the wilderness. I still love going on hikes and being out in nature.

I think my favorite childhood summertime memories are catching lightning bugs (aka fireflies) with my twin brother on those hot, summer nights, listening to cicada bugs announce that the temperatures were rising during the day and spending countless hours in our swimsuits (at the local pool, in the sprinkler at home or painting the sidewalks with water and a paintbrush).
AHHHH, those were the days!

my favorite summertime memory would be the memory of my grandpa (passed away march 08) retelling the story of when i was 9 and my grandparents took me to a train museum in green bay, wisconsin. when asked what my favorite part of the museum was, (and my grandpa always starts chuckling at this point) he says i replied "the exit sign". and up until the june before he passed of cancer, he retold this story to my husband every summer when we would travel the 10hrs to visit upper michigan with the babies.

butterfly hunting with my brother, using the homemade butterfly nets we made with a plastic bag, a wire coat hanger, and a broom stick.
Directions: round out the wire hanger, and pull the hanger part straight. Attache the straight wire part to the broom handle with tape (masking, electrical, whatever you can find). Then get a plastic bag and tape the edges to rounded wire. There's your homemade butterfly net.
Here's a layout I made of me and my bro when we were little, in our butterfly hunting days...

I grew up by a river, and floating down that river on a black inner tube countless times and jumping off the cliffs halfway through was by far the funnest thing to do!

Growing up in New England made us very fond of summer. Winters are cold and long here and the summer can be fleeting, but.... My favorite summertime memory would be playing outside until well after dark. The fireflies, flashlight tag and just enjoying the great outdoors. I don't remember wearing shoes very often. I remember being carefree and enjoying everything about the outdoors. No TV, or electronics just fun fun fun in the sun and as the darkness fell it continued. To this day I love sitting outside as darkness falls and enjoy the sounds, scents and sights of the night in New England.

My favorite summer time memory was visiting my great aunt and uncle with my dad and grandparents. We would go down to the lake/river and run the trout line, fish, sleep in the camper and at night the adults would play Pinochle and I'd sit around and watch them play and listen to them talk and make jokes.
